Olympian's Revelation Of Being 40-Year-Old Virgin Destroyed Her Dating Life

Olympian Lolo Jones has been honest about her dating life and recently shared that being a virgin who is waiting for marriage has negatively affected her dating prospects. She believes that men now know she is seeking a genuine connection rather than something casual.

Lolo Jones, the American athlete who excelled in both hurdling and bobsledding at the Olympics, expressed regret for publicly disclosing her virginity at the age of 40.

Despite her remarkable sporting career, the focus shifted to her love life following her revelation about waiting for marriage before engaging in sexual relations.

Due to her strong Christian faith, Jones made a personal choice to remain abstinent until marriage. She considers this aspect of intimacy to be something sacred that can be shared exclusively between her and her future spouse.

However, publicly revealing her virginity did affect her dating experiences.

In 2012, she initially disclosed her virginity on Twitter and later mentioned it during an interview on HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. She expressed that maintaining her virginity is a personal gift she intends to give to her future husband.

"But please understand, this journey has been hard. There's virgins out there, I'm gonna let them know, it's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life."

"Harder than training for the Olympics, harder than graduating from college, has been to stay a virgin before marriage."

Jones shared that since publicly discussing her virginity a decade ago, she has encountered difficulties in the dating scene. Men became aware that she is seeking a committed relationship rather than something casual.

During an appearance on Kevin Hart's Cold as Balls podcast, she admitted, "That was a mistake. That killed all my dates after that — like didn't even have a chance. Like before, at least I had a chance."

"Before, I'd like, tiptoe, 'OK, when's a good time to tell him? Do I wait until he sees my personality a little bit? Or do I just drop the bomb?'"

Jones also mentioned that practicing abstinence has put her at a disadvantage as an athlete, as she doesn't experience the physical release or hormonal benefits that other athletes may have.

She elaborated: "I have a higher level of intensity because I don't have any pressure release. Everybody knows me as stressed out."

"Having sex actually helps you as an athlete, a female athlete. It's good for your hormones. So I'm running at a disadvantage."

Jones confessed to becoming "really bored with dating" and eventually losing hope after facing disappointments from men over the years.

"Look, I'm no spring chicken. I'm not at an age where I can pretend like in my 20s 'oh I'm not looking for anything serious' when I was totally wanting to get married at that age," she confessed.

"It's hard to date. It's always the same story, picking between two extremes. One guy is a Christian one guy is not. ⁣One guy is a workaholic the other one is unmotivated. I'm torn between personality or character. Looks or morals."

Although Jones has not yet found the right partner, she has made the decision to freeze her eggs as a precautionary measure, ensuring the possibility of having children in case her ideal partner comes along later in life.

In an Instagram post, she expressed: "I have made the right move to prepare for a family if me and my husband want to try to have kids one day, we have options."

"No one should be shamed for taking their time to figure out who their life partner is. A woman shouldn't be shamed for wanting biological kids or wanting to know what it's like to be pregnant and carry her own child."
