An elderly couple in the US found themselves slapped with a restraining order after repeatedly raising concerns about a "noisy" rental property next door.
Linda Bliss and Mark Honold, retirees living in Phoenix, simply wanted a peaceful and quiet life, like most retirees.
However, they claim their neighbor's rental property has become a constant source of disturbance, hosting late-night parties that have made their lives unbearable.
According to a local TV station, Arizona Family, Linda and Mark reached out to the Phoenix Police on at least five occasions to report these alleged parties and also filed numerous complaints with the property manager.
Despite their efforts, the problem persisted, forcing them to feel trapped in their own home due to the recurring disruptions.
As if that weren't enough, the situation took a turn for the worse when the property owner served them with a restraining order in response to their complaints.
The couple had grown weary of the ongoing noise, frequent parties, and even strangers invading their privacy by peering into their backyard.

"We're held hostage inside our house. It's just so loud, you can hear everything," Mark shared with Arizona Family.
They contend that the restraining order was the result of an incident where they had raised their voices at party guests to lower the noise level.
"It was very demeaning because I'm licensed by the state of Arizona for insurance, working with children, the elderly, and they came and treated me like a criminal," Linda added.
The property manager of the rental in question has since clarified that all guests are screened before gaining access to the property, and loud parties are explicitly prohibited.
Additionally, the property manager pointed out that the elderly couple is the sole neighboring party to have raised objections regarding guests residing at the rental property.

This incident follows a recent neighborhood dispute involving a widowed neighbor who faced verbal abuse from a couple regarding her home improvements, with the couple insinuating that she's alone for a reason.
The video, originally shared by the woman's daughter, Haeley Tran, but later deleted, captured the confrontation as the neighbors confronted Tran's mother about the noisy home improvements.
In the video, the two neighbors approach Tran's mom and label her as "the most anal person I've ever met."
Tran's mother attempts to explain that she can only carry out the work on weekends, but the couple responds angrily, with one of them stating: "Take your mask off so we can see you. You're hiding because you're f**king ashamed and embarrassed."
"The way you're acting is so immature for an old-a** woman, to act like that is embarrassing."
