Nick Cannon's 5-month-old son Zen lost his battle with brain cancer. The actor and host of America's Got Talent revealed the shattering news on his talk show, The Nick Cannon Show.

Following the devastating news, celebrities and fans sent their condolences and prayers for Nick Cannon, Zen, and Zen's mom, model Alyssa Scott.

Losing An Infant

The infant was battling Hydrocephalus and brain cancer. Hydrocephalus "is the buildup of fluid in the cavities (ventricles) deep within the brain." These fluids put pressure on the brain.

Talking about the heartbreak, Cannon said:

"I always noticed he had a cough and so I wanted to check it out."

Nick explained that he noticed the changes when the baby was only two months old:

"He had this interesting breathing and by the time he was two months, I noticed he had this nice sized head too β€” a Cannon head. We didn't think anything of it."

Still, they went to the pediatrician:

"But I wanted to take him to the doctor for his sinus and breathing. We thought it would be routine."

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Zen's health took a nasty turn, so Nick tried to spend all the time with his baby. Nick opened up, saying:

"We woke up on Sunday and went to the ocean with him and Alyssa and then I had to fly back to New York for the show."

"I got a call on my way to the airport to head back to Zen."

Nick And Alyssa Scott Experiencing Every Parent's Nightmare

Nick, who is a father of seven, told his audience:

"I'm here to show that I can fight through this, I'm feeling it, I'm vulnerable, I'm open, this is a special show dedicated to my beautiful son Zen."

Fans of the couple and those who faced this unspeakable pain took to social media to express their condolences.

Our hearts to go out Nick, Alyssa, and their baby.
