A scientific study has discovered that intelligent people have easily identifiable characteristics.

Do you or others notice that you swear more than other people?

Do people often complain about the mess you leave everywhere?

Well, scientists have found that there may be more to your behavior than just bad habits.

Intelligent people use more curse words.

You always hear that people who swear have a "limited vocabulary". But those who don't use any swear words are the ones who limit their own vocabulary because they intentionally use fewer words than others.

Psychologists Kristin Jay of Marist College and Timothy Jay of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts are the ones responsible for the recent study.

"People who use taboo words understand their general expressive content as well as nuanced distinctions that must be drawn out to use slurs appropriately. The ability to make nuanced distinctions indicates the presence of more rather than less linguistic knowledge."

Smart People Go to Bed Late.

President Obama, Charles Darwin, Winston Churchill, Keith Richards, and Elvis Presley are all famous for nocturnal activities. If you tend to go to sleep rather late, you're definitely in good company.

Research studies have found that those people who have the highest IQs are usually those who are most active in the evening. The study found that many individuals with less than 75 would go to bed around midnight while the higher IQ, over 125 would end up going to bed later at around 1 AM.

Smart People Are Messy People.

Next time somebody complains about your messy home or desk, what you have to do is keep in mind that it's a characteristic of a smart individual.

A study by the University of Minnesota suggests, that the messy desk of individuals is actually linked to their intelligence. If you don't spend much time cleaning and organizing everything around you, your mind is obviously occupied with more important stuff.

So if you enjoy swearing in your messy room while staying up late, it's a sign of your higher IQ!
