I'm sure we are all excited that Scream 5 is in the works. What seems certain is that Neve Campbell will return in the role of Sidney Prescott. Rumors had circulated that she was not sure if she would return due to Wes Craven's death.
New directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet both assure the film's ingenuity will remain. According to Neve Campbell's Instagram, all she says is, "I'm Back!"
Returning And New Cast Members

Returning are the actor and actress David Arquette and Courtney Cox, as well. Both once again will be playing their roles of Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers.
Marley Shelton is reprising her character of Sheriff Judy Hicks. It is still unknown if other stars who act in the franchise will also return, although several fans have expressed a desire to see the character played by Hayden Panettiere-Kirby Reid return.
But you have several new faces to look forward to finding out about their demise in the film. The new victims or survivors are Jack Quaid, Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Dylan Minnett, Kyle Gallner, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mikey Madison.
What Happens In Woosboro Now?
The production says Woodsboro will deal with a serial killer on a killing spree with details staying mum. This time an unknown woman had returned to the town during the sprees or right before the spree started.
Speculation among fans runs towards it being Sydney Prescott, but considering the climate, she may be in a different role this time despite being the originally intended murder victim.
Scream's Success

Horror film fans following Scream really like the changing story. It went from thriller to parody to sequels to Woodsboro's return, like Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Friday the 13th movies. What will they do now? I dare not speculate but do wait with bated breath.
Scheduling the film shoot in Wilmington, North Caroline, with a release on January 14, 2021. Despite quarantine, it's unclear whether there were any shooting pauses.
