Netflix Viewers Furious Over Unanswered Phone Call Onboard Missing MH370

Viewers of a new docu-series focused on the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 are enraged after it uncovered that a passenger's call was not answered.

It has been a little more than nine years since the enigmatic disappearance of the Malaysian Airlines aircraft, and despite a thorough investigation, numerous questions remain unanswered.

However, the viewers who tuned into the Netflix series have expressed frustration at the tantalizing information that could have potentially resolved the mystery behind the disappearance.

Across its three episodes, the docu-series has delved into multiple hypotheses regarding the disappearance of the Malaysian Airlines flight that vanished on March 8, 2014, during its journey from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Beijing, China.

Following its disappearance from radar above the Indian Ocean and failure to reach its intended destination in Beijing, all 239 individuals on board, including 227 passengers and 12 crew members, were presumed to have perished.

The documentary investigates various hypotheses, as investigators and the families of the victims recount the excruciating hours following the aircraft's disappearance.

In the interviews, a couple of relatives claimed that they received phone calls from their loved ones even after the official search had commenced.

Jiang Hui discussed the peculiar phone call during one of these scenes.

When Hui's father was among those waiting for news about the flight, a young girl approached him, asserting that she was being called by her father.

The girl displayed the incoming call on her phone, but it ceased to ring as soon as she answered it.

Hui had a similar encounter, stating that he attempted to contact his family member and was even connected, but received no response.

The Malaysian government disregarded Hui's account, and he later stated that the authorities asserted that they did not possess the technology to track the signal.

The audience expressed their frustration, contending that these calls could have potentially solved the mystery, and criticized the documentary for disregarding this crucial piece of information.

Viewers have taken to Twitter to express their exasperation, with one remarking that they could not fathom how the phone call had not been tracked, and many have criticized the documentary for its oversight.

They wrote: "Watching that #MH370 on Netflix. I can't believe that they didn't trace that phone call ringing somewhere?? I mean, it's 2014 we have great technology 9 years ago?"

Some viewers raised doubts about the authenticity of the phone call, and another person commented: "Okay I just started this series and I just wanna say.. there is NO way those phone calls went through if the plane had crashed onto land, or the ocean.."

Other viewers focused on the human cost of the unanswered phone call: "I'm so upset that she received a call from her dad and showed her phone to people INSTEAD OF PICKING UP THE PHONE."

The documentary has faced heavy criticism for putting a lot of focus on conspiracy theories.
