A mother died of a "broken heart" days after finding her dead son's body.

Goran Ilich's cause of death remains a mystery. He was 34 at the time of his passing. After his mom found his remains, she died three days later.

The man lived in Coober Pedy, which is a remote town in South Australia with a population of just 2,000 people. The area has experienced a series of sudden deaths.

Goran was described in the media as being popular due to his "natural charm" and politeness.

Not long after, the media announced the mother's death. On the day she died, she had woken up with chest pains.

She had also called friends for help. Unfortunately, though an ambulance arrived to take her to the hospital, she died some hours later.

According to her friends, the woman had a heart condition. They are also of the opinion that grieving her son caused her death.

The incident is now being described as a "double tragedy."

According to the British Heart Foundation, when a person seems to have died of a broken heart, they usually have a condition known as Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, which is also known as broken heart syndrome.

Symptoms of this condition are similar to those of a heart attack. However, the two conditions are very different.

Most heart attacks are caused by a blood clot in the coronary artery. However, those experiencing broken heart syndrome suffer from a swollen heart muscle, and that affects the way it functions.

The condition is also more common in women, and it is caused by trauma.

After Goran's death, a GoFundMe page was set up to cover his burial costs. On the page, he is described as having a "beautiful soul" and having died "too soon."

The page also says:

"Everyone that interacted with Goran knew he was different, he could talk to anyone and charm them with his charisma and personality."

"Goran has left an impact on all of us in so many different ways and so many other cities."

The goal of the page was to raise $20,000 AUD. However, more than double this amount has already been raised.

Many people were sending the family their condolences on the contribution page. Their hope is that the family will find the strength to deal with the tragic loss of their loved ones.
