Money Heist, led by Professor ((Álvaro Morte), first came to the small screen in 2017 and has gathered a massive fan base – it's currently Netflix's most popular non-English show.

Creator of the show Álex Pina commented about it coming to an end:

We've spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel (Money Heist).

The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.

The fifth and last season will consist of ten episodes, and the production will start in Spain on August 3.

Narcos actor Miguel Angel Silvestre, and actor Patrick Criado, 24, will join the already running ensemble cast of the show, including Alvaro Morte, Ursula Cobero, Pedro Alonso, Itziar Ituno and others.

Pina told Entertainment Weekly:

Adrenaline is within Money Heist's DNA. Every thirty seconds, things take place and disrupt the characters, a turn of the screw to the action. The adrenaline mixed with feelings arising from absolutely complex, magnetic, unforeseeable characters will continue until the end of the heist to the Bank of Spain. However, the gang will now be pushed into irreversible situations, into a wild war: it is the most epic part of all the features we've shot.

The shooting for the final season will soon begin in Spain, Denmark, and Portugal.

In addition to the anticipation of the final season, two new faces are expected to join the cast: Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Patrick Criado.

Set against the backdrop of Madrid, the series highlights two prepared heists - Royal Mint of Spain and one on the Bank of Spain.

Money Heist started as a two-part show, and was a hit on the popular streaming platform, and has won a lot of awards in Spain for the main cast and also the makers.
