A mom decided to share a disturbing video that shows her daughter in a shocking physical state. The girl appeared "possessed" after getting drugged at a nightclub. She had consumed a spiked drink on her first night out ever.
Millie Taplin, 18, lost physical control of her body for four hours after taking a drink. A revolting stranger had decided to put an unknown substance into her drink.
Her mom revealed that, according to doctors, the man likely gave her two drugs. One of the drugs was intended to paralyze her, while the other was meant to make her pass out.
Millie's mom, Claire, 48, decided to put up the video on social media. In the video, Millie can be seen in distress in a hospital bed.
Her jaw is clenched, and her fingers are folded like claws.
The mom also spoke to the media after the attention she drew to the case started mounting. She explained that she had decided to share the video to help other girls who might end up in similar circumstances:
"As disturbing as it is, if that saves one girl, just one, then it's worth sharing. Nothing can prepare you to see that."
While giving the interview to the media, she described the mean treatment her daughter got as "horrendous" and said that it left her daughter looking like she was "possessed:"
"I was numb. I was looking at her and thought, 'what the hell have they given her' because I've never seen anything like it in my life.' The thing that destroyed me was she knew everything that was going on but she was frozen."
The mom said that when she made contact with her daughter, she could see that she was there and was trying her best to make eye contact. However, she could not even speak.
The Only Mistake Millie Did Was Accepting A Drink From A Stranger
Millie and a group of her friends went out to have a good time at Moos Moos nightclub in Southend. A man in the company of a group of people she knew approached her.
He was carrying vodka and lemonade and told her to give it a try.
According to her, this was the only drink she took that she didn't pay for. However, taking that drink proved to be a huge mistake.
It was especially traumatizing for her considering that this was her first night out since she had turned 18.
Soon after drinking it, she started feeling weird. All she had were two sips and went outside.
On her way back, she felt too drunk and started to feel sick. She went outside, and soon afterward, she had lost control of her legs and hands.
Ten minutes later, she was already feeling the strange effects of the drink she had just consumed. She also knew that something sinister had happened.
According to her mother, she even said that she had been spiked:
"She knew she wasn't feeling drunk, she knew it wasn't right."
She Started Feeling Sick
Millie was so sick after taking the drink that she could not see or walk. When her friends saw her state, they called in her big sister Sadie, 28.
Sadie took Millie to the hospital in her car in the early hours of the following Sunday morning.
When her sister got to the scene, she met with a horrifying sight of her sister in an uncontrollable state:
"I was just blown away."
Millie Will Be More Cautious About Going Out And Strangers
Millie revealed that she knew all that was going on, but she was not in a position to say or explain herself. Apparently, she could reply to those talking to her but could not get the words out.
Millie remembered how supportive the doctors were. They did all they could to calm her down, given her state when she got to the hospital.
She admits that she was terrified and would never wish to go through that ever again.
For that reason, she is not very keen to go out regularly after this incident. Her goal is to be more cautious to avoid getting into a similar situation again.
She also has some words of wisdom to share with anyone who might be at risk of ending up in her predicament:
"No matter how well you think you know someone, never accept a drink off them or anything."
Currently, police are looking into the matter based on the report that the woman was given a spiked drink at a nightclub in Southend. The police report also claimed that the 18-year-old woman got sick outside the nightclub before being taken to the hospital for assessment.
However, no arrests have been made yet in connection with the incident, and the police inquiries are still ongoing.
All we can do is wish Millie all the best. It's a relief she is doing better after the terrifying ordeal.
