The things we do for love sometimes can't be explained easily in a few words, especially if it is about something related to our children.

The kids of today struggle with lots of things. Many of them get bullied at school. We also have cyberbullying, trolling, flaming, body-shaming. For such young and sensitive souls that still explore their preferences in life, this can be crucial.

And the number one problem for their self-esteem, character and their whole being is, of course - social media.

Our younger audience grew up exposed to all social media platforms, so one mom recently had it all.

She decided that it was time to teach her daughter a lesson, and this is how she did it.

I'm Not A Regular Mom - I'm A Cool Mom

Fernanda Rocha Kanner is one cool mom indeed.

Like any other mom in the world, she cared about her teenage daughter, and she wanted to prove her a point.

The daughter named Valentina goes by the name Nina Rios. At only 14 years of age, she is already an influencer in Brazil. Nina has around 1.7 million followers on her Instagram and Tik-Tok accounts.

So young and yet so popular.

Enough Is Enough - Social Media Is Toxic

Fernanda wasn't a fan of this fact, although she would always support her daughter. Just like any regular parent would do.

But she thought that social media is unhealthy for young people like Nina. And it was about time to open the eyes of her own daughter.

She plotted the perfect plan. And that plan consisted of deleting Nina's Instagram and Tik-Tok accounts.

The worried mom didn't want her daughter to be another victim of social media platforms. She didn't want Nina to be a part of the perfect fake world people try to present through social media these days.

She claimed:

"I don't think it's healthy even for an adult and much less for a teenager to base her self-discovery on online feedback."

And this woman is more than right.

Some Bold Moves To Save Her Daughter From The Unhealthy Online World

Fernanda says that many people were questioning her motives. Others were wondering about the drastic moves she made for her daughter because the online world is a part of everyone's life.

But this cool mom explained her point of view:

"It's hard enough for you to find out who you are at 14 years old. When there are two million people you've never seen in your life thinking they know you, it's even more dangerous. It's easier to lose yourself."

And isn't she right?

A Sad Generation Of Young Adults

The woman did this with having good intentions only.

One day, she was scrolling through the camera roll in her daughter's phone, and something had shocked her.

Nina had dozens of selfies that all looked the same. More than 30 identical pictures were repeating in the folder. And there were those silly Tik-Tok dances that everyone tries to polish and perfect to look cool on their Tik-Tok and Instagram feed.

Fernanda didn't want her daughter to grow up in one of those young women who want to build up their whole life and career on social media.

And really, what's the point of taking 30 selfies that look the same?

Furthermore, she didn't want Nina to advertise some polyester clothes and lie that these are the best things she bought herself. Or to be a part of that large group of young people who dance to the same songs as a group of trained monkeys.

The Daughter Also Spoke

Young Valentina also told her side.

She explained that when she heard her mother's decision, she was angry at her. Nina felt like her mom was somehow punishing her, and she didn't have any idea why.

But when all of the dust settled down, she understood that her mom wants only the best for her.

Valentina is unsure how long her break from social media would last, but she was honest to admit that the change was good for her.

She said:

"I'll choose. At the moment, I don't want to. It's going to be something that's only going to get in my way and it will only make it worse."

Life is surely calmer without bothering yourself with social media.
