Model With Down’s Syndrome Has Just Become Benefit’s Brand Ambassador

Benefits Cosmetics has made Kate Grant its brand ambassador.

While it's not unusual for brands to have models market their products, Kate is nothing like a typical model as she has Down's Syndrome.

The announcement was made through the company's Instagram page where Kate is seen in a picture applying winged eyeliner using a Benefit product under the beautiful caption "Just wingin' it! We are OBSESSED with gorgeous @kategrantmodel".

The model also shared a similar snap on her Instagram account, where she promoted the Benefit eyeliner she was using.

Within no time, the post had 5,000 likes.

Kate lives with Down's Syndrome. She also has a very impressive portfolio. She managed to win an international beauty pageant in spite of her condition.

But still, the model has had to put up with a lot of tough moments in her life. After being born in Northern Ireland, doctors said that she had a "bleak future" ahead of her due to her condition.

Her mother was also told that Kate would neither speak or learn to read.

Today, she has defied the odds to become a highly-demanded model of international repute. She managed to win the Teen Ultimate Beauty of The World competition in her home country of Ireland.

This successful career path is what has led to her being the ambassador for Benefit Cosmetics today.

It is commendable that Beauty Cosmetics has stood behind its equal opportunity promise by hiring a model with Down's Syndrome.

The model is already a huge influence and an incredible inspiration for many, and she will reach an even greater number of people while working with them.

Many Instagram users had positive quips to post about the decision to hire her on the brand's Instagram page.

The decision to hire Kate Grant was the right move, and the campaign is already a success by any measure, based on how positively the social media community is responding to the news that the model is now the brand's ambassador.
