Award shows season is our favorite season. Many people would say that it's the most wonderful time of the year!
And isn't it? We just love the glamour, the elegant dresses, and the glitz.
But wherever there are glamorous gowns, sparkles, lights, and cameras, there is some drama too.
And who wouldn't crave some fashion drama?
While some of the stars blossomed on the red carpet, others' styles may have seen some better days.
Wondering what is IN and what is OUT for this season?
First things first. Let's start with a countdown of our favorite red carpet looks!
#25 Reese Witherspoon
Reese is a fashion icon since day 1. Sadly, her Celine dress just missed the mark for us.
#24 Marin Hinkle
Although the color of the dress suits her skin tone, the design is a bit weird. And once you picture one of those cheap metallic pleated skirts you'd find on the store sale rack, it somehow ruins the whole impression.
#23 Madeline Brewer
Pastels are always in. And it often seems you could never go wrong with them. But is this true after all?
#22 Storm Reid
Kudos for aiming to achieve something different than the rest of the celebrities on the carpet. However, the neckline combined with those feathery textures seems a bit questionable.
#21 Stephanie Kurtzuba
The floral print is another classic, often seen on the red carpet.
#20 Catherine O'Hara
A sequin dress combined with gold and blingy details is a one tricky combo.
#19 Natalia Dyer
The Stranger Things star always picks up something classy and classic and she's stunning. However, this metallic Dior number was a little aging for her.
#18 Gwendoline Christie
Gwendoline looks amazing, but the shape of this gown is a bit weird.
#17 Elisabeth Moss
One could say that adding some strong red details to a soft pink gown might do the trick. But this is not the case. Anyhow, Elizabeth looks amazing in everything she wears.
#16 Francesca Reale
These collars are a bit out of date, but besides the strange collar, this gown looks elegant and subtle.
#15 Lisa Edelstein
That pattern seems like a huge NO for an occasion like this. Maybe if the flowers were more subtle it would give a whole other perspective to the dress.
#14 Zoe Kravitz
Zoe is a walking goddess. She slays everything she puts on her, but maybe there is a first time for everything, even for fashion mistakes. The gloves don't sit right with this elegant dress.
#13 Dakota Fanning
Nothing over the top, and yet nothing terrible. Dakota loves to play it safe, and this mint fairy dress is a proof to that.
#12 Priah Ferguson
The young Stranger Things star looks cute. Bringing some High School Musical Red carpet looks back to life, but it's okay.
#11 Patricia Arquette
The silhouette on this suit says it all, and its words are not that good. Maybe if the pants had a more classic cut, the whole impression would be different.
#10 Ryan Michelle Bathe
Less is more should be the mantra for some of the stars who chose outfits that have just too many different and incompatible prints.
#9 Pollyanna Macintosh
Is this a beach cover-up or a Coachella outfit? Well, seems like that's a secret we'll never know.
#8 Alex Borstein
Sometimes, playing it safe can turn boring in seconds.
#7 Christina Applegate
The print of the dress speaks louder than any other words we could add.
#6 Stephanie Hsu
White gowns are nothing new on the Red carpet. However, if the cut is a miss, there's nothing else one could do to improve the total look of the styling.
#5 Ashleigh Lathrop
On the other side, as a total opposite of the 'classic' or 'less is more' look, we have some stars that would decide to play it bold. And it could be either a hit or miss. The exceptions are too rare.
The jewelry details were maybe too much for this dress.
#4 Rachel Brosnahan
Maybe the whole impression would be a lot better if there weren't those draped jewels on the neckline. However, the dress looks wonderful on Rachel's figure.
#3 Winona Ryder
Winona Ryder always goes for the cool gothic vibes, and we got used to it. The dresses she wears look too good on her. But the tuxedo jacket over the flowy dress is just an odd combo.
#2 Sarah Hyland
Remember when we said that floral print is a classic? Well, scratch that. Double scratch it, whenever you see a large-scaled floral print on a Red carpet dress.
#1 Margot Robbie
Margot Robbie's picks are questionable. From the fit to the pattern and clunky jewelry, Margot failed to win us over on this one.
The Star That Grabbed All The Attention
Moreover, there was one special star that caught all the attention. And the problem was, it was for all the wrong reasons!
People thought that Millie Bobby Brown's style has seen some better days. They noticed that the outfit she wore was maybe not appropriate for her age.
Saying Yes To The Dress?
In fact, her outfit was highly aging, and it did not just add a couple of years to her - but a couple of decades!
We're fully aware that it's not the easiest job to style a 15-year-old and make a teenage girl look classy on the carpet, but maybe Millie's stylist just went over the top and made a major misfire.
Go With The Flow
Some people just tried to pick up the best from the whole aging situation and turned to jokes.
Others even tried to compare her to the one and only, Meryl Streep.
Millie Wasn't The Only One
After all, it seems like Millie wasn't the only one with an aging outfit. Her castmates from Stanger Things wore similar outfits that gave the 'too glamorous' or 'too aging' vibe.
There were some people who stood up for Millie Bobby Brown.
And isn't this the truest thing that you've heard?
In an industry where little girls are made to grow up before they're ready, how else could we expect her to dress? It is a fact that no matter what teen celebrities wear, do, or say, people are always going to talk. So, let them be.
Which outfits do you prefer - the fancy or controversial?
