And recently, Tyson has made a shocking confession.

Speaking to The Sun, Tyson explained how he tried to pay $10,000 to punch a silverback gorilla that was bullying other apes.

In the 80s, when Tyson was an unbeaten heavyweight-wrecking machine, he went to a zoo with his then-partner Robin Givens.

He had the entire zoo to himself after paying zookeepers to keep it open — so he and his partner could share a romantic, private date.

However, the extravagant gesture was interrupted by a silverback gorilla that was bullying other gorillas.

He Offered a Zookeeper $10K to Let Him ‘Smash’ the Gorilla on the Face

Tyson told The Sun:

“When we got to the gorilla cage, there was one big silverback gorilla there just bullying all the other gorillas.”

“They were so powerful, but their eyes were like an innocent infant.”

“I offered the attendant $10,000 to open the cage and let smash that silverback’s snotbox! He declined.”

Despite offering a large sum of money, the zookeeper kept to his principles and refused the offer.

This confession has surprised many of Tyson’s fans since the boxer is known for being an animal lover.

For instance, in the Netflix series Tiger King, Tyson shows remorse about keeping the wild animals in captivity.

He even said he regrets keeping the ferocious animals as pets.

Tyson said on an Instagram Live session:

“I was foolish. There’s no way you can domesticate these cats 100 percent. No way that’s going to happen.”

“They’ll kill you by accident. Especially when you’re playing rough with them, you’re punching them back. They get hyped up, hit you back, and you’re dead.”

“I’m just happy I educated myself. It was late. But I was doing the wrong s**t. I shouldn’t have had them in my house, believing they were domesticated. I was wrong.”
