Who said you cannot use OnlyFans for good? Raising $160K for charity, Mia Khalifa shows the positive potential of the platform.
Supporting causes that matter
Mia Khalifa recently posted on Instagram a picture of herself running in a racy orange bikini, with the caption "Running to 2021 and the vaccine." The celebrity also disclosed that she was able to donate $160K to charity thanks to her OnlyFans account.

Her massive success on the platform and the support of a dedicated fanbase helped her reach this important goal. Her enthusiasm for the accomplishment showed through her words as she wrote:
"But first I just want to thank everyone who has supported me on OnlyFans since September. You guys have helped me donate over $160k to charities and organizations that mean the most to me."
On top of that, Khalifa is grateful for the community she is part of. On OnlyFans, she connected with other women in meaningful ways. She continued:
"I'm so grateful for the platform and all the incredible, strong, determined women I've met through the Internet because of it. You guys have taught me so much and helped me grow as a person in more ways than I can ever thank you for."
A brief career in the adult film industry
In 2014, Khalifa started her career as an actress in adult films. She worked only briefly in the industry, but it was enough to make her into a star.
In an interview with Playboy, she confessed that the experience was not at all pleasant. Understanding how it was harming herself and her relationships, she decided to retire. She revealed:
"It was an eye-opener for me. I don't want any of this, whether it's positive or negative—but all of it was negative. I didn't think too much into it about how my friends and family and relationships were suffering."
In 2016, explaining why she started her career in the adult movies industry, she told The Washington Post:
"I guess it was my rebellious phase. It wasn't really for me. I kind of smartened up and tried to distance myself from that."
Even as the second most popular star on PornHub until 2018, Khalifa earned only $12,000 as an adult star. Moreover, the companies she worked for never paid her any residuals for the movies she appeared in.
A fresh start on OnlyFans
Since starting her OnlyFans account in September 2020, Khalifa started to feel empowered and part of a wonderful community. Delighted about a platform that feels like home, she wrote:
"Not sure what took me so long, but after one week on [OnlyFans], I'm already seeing why women feel empowered to be unapologetically themselves within the community."
A few months later, her love for OnlyFans has not changed. In December, she once again shared her joy about her new-found online community, stating:
"Thank y'all so much for the warm welcome. Three months on OnlyFans now and I still feel so lucky to have found such a supportive, empowering community to call home."
No doubt, the year has started on the right note for Khalifa. Her star still shines brighter than ever.
