Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their baby girl.

This was the news that broke the Internet in the last couple of days. Of course, we couldn't be happier for the birth of their second child, but still, there is one teeny-tiny thing that made people talk.

And it revolves around tradition.

When we put royals and tradition in one sentence, things get tangled. Especially when the royals are Meghan and Harry, it seems like the happy parents have broken the royal tradition for the umpteenth time.

People are Talking

No matter how things go, there is something that is crystal clear to all of us: people are always going to talk.

But this time, people weren't amused with some of Meghan and Harry's actions.

And although this might have been one of the luckiest days of this power couple, it brought them a lot of headaches too.

Moreover, let's not try to remember how the last couple of years turned out for them. Scandal after scandal, one thing leading to another, these two definitely had seen some better days.

And the comments from people around the world weren't helping at all.

Hey There, Meghan, Welcome To The Family

The famous Suits star Meghan Markle and Prince Harry married back in 2018. It was the wedding of every girl's dreams for sure.

But not everything is as it seems on the surface. Although the handsome couple was bursting with happiness, their safe, magical bubble lasted very shortly.

And then all things took a pretty ugly turn.

Eyes were all around Meghan and how she behaved. How she walked, talked, the British press really had made its presence felt.

This made Meghan and Harry announce that they would be taking a step back from everything. The title, the fame, their senior roles in the royal family.

Everything was put on pause because the harassment was unbearable. And they felt that they needed a time out.

Enjoying The Silence From Distance

When their firstborn Archie came into the picture, they just needed some time to enjoy parenthood. The lack of privacy and pressure from family, friends, or the press was overwhelming for Meghan.

So, it wasn't a surprise when they decided to relocate to Los Angeles. This was their chance to turn the page and start from scratch. And they tried to do it.

Some News Is A Hard Pill To Swallow

A predictable scenario from the start or not, the announcement of Meghan and Harry's departure didn't go exactly as planned. The royalists from all around the world took aside and didn't try to spare themselves from adding their comments and opinions.

There were many rumors about the feuds between Harry, Prince Charles, and Prince William. And the interview with Oprah that aired on March 7th just added some more chilly spices to the whole messy stew.

During the interview, Harry and Meghan decided to finally spill the tea and reveal how they were treated by the members of the royal family.

It wasn't a story that included loads of love, rainbows, and fluffy unicorns.

Accusations

Meghan even made some shocking accusations of racism against the whole monarchy. Not that it came all of a sudden to us, but nobody expected that she could share all these details with the whole world.

Moreover, she shared concerns expressed by an unnamed senior member of the family over Archie's skin color. Meghan believed that it was something that contributed to her son not being given a royal title.

Wiping her tears and being utterly emotional, Meghan described that she felt alone. There was no support from the family for her, and things escalated quickly.

The pressure took its toll so she ended up feeling suicidal. And all of this, through her pregnancy.

She explained how she felt:

"Look, I was really ashamed to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry especially, because I know how much loss he has suffered, but I knew that if I didn't say it, then I would do it... I just didn't want to be alive anymore."

The pressure was just too much. And the isolation that comes with being a member of the royal family was the cherry on top. It triggered some ugly things and feelings.

Harry's Side Of Things And Everything In-between

Harry also spoke about his relationship with his father, Charles. He shared how he's been financially cut off by his own father. And moreover, he expressed that he felt like he was an outcast in his family.

And while many people around the world supported Meghan and Harry, some others joined the other side and didn't sympathize with this story at all.

People Started Taking Sides

Some people weren't impressed by Meghan and Harry's desperate attempt to break their silence in such a publicized way.

And there we had it, Harry and Meghan were also accused of being attention seekers and liars.

Shortly after this intriguing interview, Harry returned to the U.K. to attend his grandfather's funeral. The world lost Prince Philip on April 9th.

The press reported that there was a great deal of frostiness between Harry, his father, and some other senior royals.

Indeed, the last couple of months were nothing but topsy-turvy for Meghan and Harry.

Standing Tall

However, it seemed like nothing could stop Harry from speaking out yet again about the hardships he and Meghan faced from being part of the royal family.

He appeared on Dax Shepard's podcast, Armchair Expert, in early May.

And during the interview, he made some very personal revelations that had left people with mouths wide open.

Harry explained that he was always feeling like the black sheep in the family. Caught in a cycle of pain and suffering, it was all kind of torture for him.

Most of all, he criticized his father, Charles, for the way he raised him:

"When it comes to parenting, if I've experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I'm going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don't pass it on. "

Genetics might do its thing, but every parent has their own road to take:

"So we as parents should be doing the most we can to try and say 'you know what, that happened to me, I'm going to make sure that doesn't happen to you.'"

As he grew older and older, Harry realized that Charles followed his parents' pattern for raising his two sons too:

"I never saw it, I never knew about it, and then suddenly I started to piece it together and go 'OK, so this is where he went to school, this is what happened, I know this about his life, I also know that is connected to his parents so that means he's treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?'"

Maybe he will succeed in his intentions and he will be a better parent than his father, only time will tell.

A Set Of Unfortunate Events

This year in February, Meghan and Harry announced that they were expecting their second child. A baby girl was on her way and they couldn't wait to finally meet her.

This happy news sounded like music for their ears, especially after Meghan's miscarriage a couple of months earlier.

She opened up to the New York Times about this painful experience, last November.

In the heartbreaking article, she claimed:

"Losing a child means carrying almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few. In the pain of our loss, my husband and I discovered that in a room of 100 women, ten to twenty of them would have suffered from a miscarriage. Yet despite the staggering commonality of this pain, the conversation remains taboo, riddled with (unwarranted) shame, and perpetuating a cycle of solitary mourning."

She and Harry needed some time to mend their wounds. Understandably, they took some time off for her second pregnancy. They wanted to stay away from media and everything that was giving them a hard time.

And lastly, the day that we've all been waiting for has finally come!

The New Member Joins This Family Of Three

As it was previously announced, Meghan gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl.

The happy news was confirmed by a spokesperson for the Sussexes.

Their statement said:

"It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter to the world."

Lili was born on Friday, June 4th, at 11.40 A.M. Meghan and the baby girl were both in the trusted hands of the doctors and the staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Both the mother and the newborn were doing fine. They were healthy and well, settling in at home.

Breaking The Rules Since Day One

Despite the fabulous news, there was one thing that made people angry - the breaking of a royal tradition involving births.

Lilibet's arrival was kept as a secret, similarly to when Meghan gave birth to Archie, back in 2019.

Moreover, the announcement of the baby girl's birth was not shared for 2 days. They once again followed the pattern they used for the announcement of their first child.

The Prince Of Wales Has Spoken Out

The birth of his fifth grandchild might have softened Prince Charles. He decided to speak out in public for the first time.

Charles made an appearance at the BMW MINI plant in Oxford on Tuesday, where he was asked about Lili's arrival.

Prince Charles said:

"The development of technology like electric vehicles…is vital for maintaining the health of our world for future generations, something I am only too aware of today, having recently become a grandfather for the 5th time."

Prince Charles described how happy he was:

"Such happy news really does remind one of the necessity of continued innovation in this area – especially around sustainable battery technology – in view of the legacy we bequeath to our grandchildren."

Royals Wishing Lili All The Best

Prince William and Kate also shared their best wishes via Twitter.

And the royal family also decided to dedicate an Instagram post to Meghan and Harry.

The caption of the photo read:

"Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of Lilibet Diana! The Queen, The Prince of Wales, and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news."

"Lilibet is Her Majesty's 11th great-grandchild."

Finally, Meghan and Harry have welcomed their second child.

A statement on the Archewell website claimed:

"On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili."

The two happy parents chose the name Lilibet in honor of the loving family nickname of her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The middle name of their baby girl, Diana, was given in honor of Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, who tragically passed away in a car accident in 1997.

They expressed their gratitude:

"She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we've felt from across the globe. Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family."
