It seems like Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle can't stay off the limelight. This time, they are getting criticized on the internet over how they handled Archie during his second birthday.
A lot of people are very upset.
Since the iconic interview with Oprah Winfrey aired, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been a topic of discussion throughout the world.

In the popular interview, which lasted for about 2 hours, many watched with dismay as the couple made scandalous accusations against the British monarchy.
At one point, Meghan said she was suicidal while pregnant with Archie and that nobody was willing to help.
She claimed that senior royal family members denied Meghan the professional assistance she needed after she started getting suicidal thoughts during this period.
Meghan also discussed the incident between her and her sister in law, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Back in 2018, headlines were claiming that Meghan had made Kate cry in an argument about bridesmaids' dresses. This was before Prince Harry's wedding.
According to the claims she made in the Oprah interview, it was Kate who made her cry. However, she insisted that the matter was now resolved since Kate had apologized.
Harry also had important information to share. For instance, he claimed that he had no option but "to get out."
However, he says the decision resulted in his getting "cut off financially" when he and his wife required help the most.
Apparently, the two are now living off the inheritance he got from his mom, Princess Diana.
"I was totally cut off financially. My family cut me off – if I didn't have what my mom left me, we wouldn't have been able to do this. All I wanted to do was keep my family safe."
During the interview, Meghan also talked about the issue of racism within the royal family.
According to the Duchess, a senior member of the family expressed "concerns" over the darkness of Archie's skin. That was before the baby was born.

In fact, she said that this concern was the reason Archie was not awarded a royal title.
At the time she was pregnant, there were many discussions about their son. He was apparently not going to get security or a title, and the darkness of his skin would also be a concern after his birth.
Understandably, there were many different opinions about the interview.
Most people sympathized with the young family in consideration of all they had been through in the past few years.
However, that was not all.
Since the famous couple did the Oprah interview, they have been getting a lot of criticism. Some have even labeled them as "liars."
One of the most popular critics is Piers Morgan.
Still, the couple has chosen to focus on other things despite the criticism they are facing.
Even though they are new parents, they are clearly cut out for the job. They have been amazing so far, especially considering what has been going on in their lives.
The couple made a big move with the goal of prioritizing their son Archie and their unborn daughter. As far as Harry and Meghan are concerned, family is what matters.
That however, that does not mean everyone thinks they are the best parents in the world.

After Archie's controversial second birthday, the couple has faced a lot of backlash. The event went down on May 6.

While celebrating Archie's birthday, Harry and Meghan went to their website to share some important news.
Instead of sharing a picture of the boy surrounded by his family, they had something a little different.
In the statement, they said:
"We have been deeply touched over the past two years to feel the warmth and support for our family in honor of Archie's birthday."
The statement went on to ask people to "donate to charities on his behalf" as a way to "mark the occasion by giving back or doing an act of service."
The statement went on to discuss the current pandemic.

They pointed out that the world was still battling COVID-19, although it was on the path to recovery. However, they argued that the effects of the pandemic were still a reason many families are still struggling.
In their statement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle explained that:
"… around eighty percent of the nearly one billion COVID-19 vaccine shots that have been given were administered in wealthier countries. While we may feel that normalcy is around the corner, we remind ourselves that in much of the world, and especially in developing countries, vaccine distribution has effectively yet to start."
The statement went on to explain:
"We will not be able to truly recover until everyone, everywhere, has equal access to the vaccine."

Based on that statement, the couple invited people to contribute whatever they could to help "bring vaccines to families in the world's most vulnerable places."
They explained that a donation of $5 could cover a single dose for a needy person. With matching support from many organizations, a 5-dollar donation will automatically increase to $20, which is enough to pay for four doses.
"Every single dollar counts – not only will it help save lives but it will help save families and communities."
There wasn't a better way for the couple to honor Archie's birthday as far as they were concerned. They urged everyone to pitch in:
"If we all show up, with compassion for those we both know and don't know, we can have a profound impact. Even a small contribution can have a ripple effect."
They insisted that together, "we can uplift, protect, and care for one another."
Harry's father also posted a tribute to Archie, his grandson.
However, a few things stood out about the photo he shared.
Naturally, there were those who only focused on the negative aspects of the post. However, many were still able to see the hope and positive feel behind it.
According to some, Prince Charles was "extending an olive branch" to repair the strained relationship he had with his son.
Only a few weeks ago, Prince Harry and his father Prince Charles, were reunited during the burial of Prince Phillip.

The drama began in 2016 after Prince Harry started dating Meghan Markle, who was an actor based in Los Angeles at the time.
Overnight, Meghan's life changed. She ditched her acting career and focused on a life full of royal duties.
Her impact on the royal family was clearly felt.

She was seen with Harry during royal trips and tours.
Without a doubt, the two looked happy together.
With a year of dating behind them, they decided to announce their engagement.
Many of their fans around the world were thrilled to hear the news.
With the marriage, Meghan was officially part of the royal family. She even got the title, the Duchess of Sussex and officially relocated to London.
After the wedding, the couple announced that they were expecting a baby. Several months later, Archie Harrison Moutbatten-Windsor was born in May 2019.
From the look of things, the couple was as happy as they could be.
However, behind the beaming public smiles, Meghan was facing intense criticism from the British public and media.
It seemed like she could not do anything right.
The British media always had something negative to say about all her moves. She even got unflattering labels such as "diva," "control-freak," "monarchy ruiner," and eventually, they were calling her a bad mother.
In other words, there is nothing her critics haven't said to her.
The relentless attacks forced the couple to make the drastic decision to give up their royal duties since the beginning of 2021.
While making a joint statement about the drastic decision, the couple said they were seeking a "normal upbringing for their child." Based on this decision, they felt that splitting their time between the U.K. and the U.S. was the best move.
Of course the world was shocked by the news.

However, the royal family was shocked the most by the couple's decision.
In fact, the departure strained the relationship between Harry and William.

Apparently, William distanced himself from his brother and his wife and they went for months without speaking.
Clearly, it is truly sad to hear that the brothers are no longer a team.
The two grew up together, and they had a rough time after their mom, Princess Diana died.
However, it seems like William had concerns about Meghan from the very beginning.
According to reports, William told Harry in 2016 to "take as much time as you need to get to know this girl."
However, Harry was not happy about his brother calling Meghan "this girl."
However, Harry had a 10-year military career behind him, and in that time, he had learned better than to judge people based on their accent, ethnicity, education, profession, or social class.
So, the tension between the brothers kept growing on account of Meghan.
William continued to warn Harry about Meghan, but he didn't appreciate it considering how supportive he had been of him and Kate after their engagement.

This was hurtful for Harry, especially considering that not even Kate Middleton was loved by everyone in the beginning.
In fact, some of William's friends didn't like Kate, but Harry was always supportive.
It was only reasonable that he expected the same kind of support from his brother after he introduced Meghan to the family.
However, William stuck to his guns and felt that his younger brother was ignoring his sense of duty and his birthright.

He was not happy after Harry allegedly "snubbed" the Queen when he failed to join her and the Cambridges during a summer holiday to Balmoral.
After Harry and Meghan's wedding, the brothers didn't spend as much time together as they previously did.
The relationship worsened after the couple decided to step down from their royal duties. According to reports, the two could barely speak.
However, they have both avoided speaking about their dispute.

They have not discussed their feud despite claims that there was a "bitter explosion" between them.
Apparently, the fallout was so bad that Charles Spencer, their uncle and Princess Diana's brother, tried to intervene.
Diana's younger brother had always been an important part of the boys' lives since her death, and he tried to see what he could do to fix the souring relationship between William and Harry.
During the Oprah interview, one of the reasons behind their feud was revealed. Prince Harry clarified why he had to leave.

A lot of challenges contributed to the wrangles within the royal family, including racism, critical media reporting, and suffocating restrictions.
During Prince Philip's funeral, there were signs that the brothers might have a chance to reconcile after all.
Apparently, William even waited for his brother after the event so that the two could walk away together.
Harry also wrote a letter to his father, Prince Charles.

However, although there are signs that the family might patch things up, it is not clear if everything will be completely fine in the end.
According to royal writer, Charlie Rae, the royal family is very unlikely "to open up their arms again" to Harry.
Harry was surprised after getting a cold reception from members of the royal family. According to Rae, Harry is like a "startled rabbit caught in the headlights" after he decided to move to the US.

Rae concluded by saying that this was a problem he didn't believe would just go away. Based on what the Prince said during the interview, it will therefore be very unlikely that "William and Charles will be extending their open arms again to Harry."

Christina Garibaldi, another royal expert, also adds that Charles is "fuming about Harry throwing shade at him and the Royal Family in the big interview and won't let it drop."
Apparently, after the damage Harry has done, Prince Charles no longer believes he is worth of a royal title.
Even though the focus should be currently on Archie's birthday, it seems that the family feud is still the focus.

The tribute Prince Charles made to the baby had everyone talking.
He shared a photo of Charles, Harry and Archie.

The fact that Meghan was missing from the picture did not go unnoticed. Others felt it necessary to remind him that he did not post a tribute for Princess Charlotte on her recent birthday.
Still, there were people who found some positivity in the photo. According to these fans, the prince was still showing "class" despite the troubles in their family.

In fact, the photo was described as an "olive branch."
Hopefully, the two will be seeing each other face to face under happier circumstances.

All in all, this has been a tough year for Meghan and Harry, and if what they revealed in the Oprah interview is anything to go by, they have had a rough couple of years.
After they denounced the royal family, everything else seems to be falling apart.
Still, they are among the most famous couples on the globe.

The initial announcement that Prince Harry was romantically involved with Meghan Markle, a Suits actress at the time, made headlines all around the world.
The couple hit it off with a blind date.
A mutual friend set them up back in 2016 on the believe that they would hit it off.

Apparently, the friend was right.
After the first date, two other dates quickly followed in London.
From there, there were months of privacy before the couple surfaced again in 2017.

At this time, they made their relationship public. With that news, Meghan was in the spotlight for being involved with the royal family.

Granted, she was already quite popular as Rachel Zane in Suits, but she was now experiencing a different kind of popularity.
The world loved the couple, and they were quite obsessed with them.

The news of their engagement were received with joy by many people.
The couple didn't waste any time, and soon enough, they were getting married.
In 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially tied the knot in a spectacular ceremony.

The lavish royal ceremony took place at the Windsor Castle, and it was one of the most watched events ever.
After their wedding, the then Duke and Duchess of Sussex had exciting news to share.

On October, they announced that they were expecting a baby.
Archie was born on May 6 2019.

However, from that point, things were not as smooth for the couple.
Meghan was having a hard time being part of the royal family.

Of course, it can't be easy joining the British royal family. Turning into royalty is quite the dramatic turnaround.
Most people were not thrilled to have an American woman of color as part of the monarchy.

She was constantly attacked and labeled as "fake." Meghan also faced accusations of breaking up the royal family.
The press was also ruthless in its attacks against her.
Things were so bad that Kensington Palace had to issue a statement asking the press and the public to back off with their critical reporting and attacks on Meghan.
Predictably, that didn't help. By 2021, the couple felt they had had enough of the harassment and the hate.

They left the Royal Family and later had the iconic groundbreaking interview with Oprah.
That is why today, Harry, Meghan, and Archie are living in Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, the criticisms still follow them, and it seems like, in the eyes of some people, they can't do anything right.
