Ricky Allen Kiper Jr.,34, shot and killed 41-year-old James C. McClernon on Wednesday in Indiana. The authorities confirmed that the man told the deputies he feels no remorse for shooting the registered sex offender.

Investigators confirmed that Kiper knocked down the door where McClernon lived, asked for him, and when he saw him, he shot.

Kiper was caught about a mile from the crime scene and admitted to shooting at McClernon twice.

Kiper told the authorities that he shot McClernon since he was a sex offender.

Talking to WFIE, McClernon's family said that it is the truth that McCleron was on the list of registered sex offenders. However, as they described it, the situation was far more complex.

They said McClernon got into a fight with an adult woman in Canada. They did not understand how he ended up on the sex offenders list in the US, especially since he was not on the same registry in Canada.

A lieutenant with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office claims there is a change the prosecution will ask for enhanced charges due to Kiper's previous police record and use of a firearm in the crime.

Kiper is placed at Vanderburgh County Jail without bail.
