We have accepted dogs as family members, despite their size. Some are so tiny that they look like rats. Sorry, but it's the truth. Others are as big as the first graders, like Saint Bernard or a Great Dane.
But, one man's pet exceeded everything we've known so far about dogs as pets.

Andrey Musienko has over 100k followers on Instagram, and it is all thanks to his gigantic puppy, which is, in fact, a wolf. Not just a wolf, but the biggest one on the planet!

His pet belongs to the black Canadian wolf breed, which lives in North America, Siberia, and Northern Europe.
The wolf, whose name is Akela, would make most of us run for our lives. However, that's not the case for Andrey, who shares adorable, snuggling selfies with the beast.

You can see Akela playing on Instagram, doing all the puppy stuff. In older footage, you can see Akela as a puppy wolf, and you would never guess that it would grow up to be such a massive animal.
For Musienko, Akela is his baby, regardless of the wolf's size. Their playtime appears scary as the wolf wrestles with a grown man. But he doesn't mind.

Despite the recent rise in holding wolves as pet dogs, this is not a topic without its controversies.
No matter how much they appear to be domesticated, their character and primal instincts are the reason for concern. However, Musienko only wants his puppy to live its best life.

That's why he started a fundraiser in hopes of building a better environment and enclosure for the wolf puppy.
On the fundraising page, the man wrote:
"Many of you are asking for a big aviary to be made for Akela like in a zoo, and that's why we made a charity fundraiser for a project close to natural conditions."
You can also watch the interaction between Musienko and Akela on Youtube. Despite our initial fears, the two seem adorable together.

The Canadian Timber Wolf or the Northwestern Wolf reaches 2.13 meters. They have strong limbs and monstrous teeth. But, it is not as if our "regular" dogs were much better before they became vital members of our families.
