Man Drives 100 Miles After Restroom Stop Before Realizing He Left His Wife Behind

One unfortunate husband committed a blunder of epic proportions by inadvertently leaving his wife behind and driving off into the night, all on Christmas day.

To add to the calamity, this oblivious husband failed to notice his wife's absence for a staggering 100 miles, leaving her stranded and compelled to trek for miles.

In his defense, Boontom Chaimoon, 55, had believed that his wife was sound asleep in the backseat during their ill-fated journey.

This bewildering incident unfolded in Thailand in the early hours of Christmas day in 2022, and Boontom is likely still profusely apologizing for his monumental lapse.

Boontom and his wife, Amnuay Chaimoon, 49, were en route to her hometown in the province of Maha Sarakham, embarking on a road trip that was meant to be memorable for all the right reasons.

As with any road trip, the need for a pit stop arose, compelling Boontom to pull over and heed nature's call at around 3:00 A.M.

While Boontom stepped out of the car, his wife also decided to take a bathroom break, venturing into the nearby jungle to relieve herself.

However, upon her return, she was met with an unsettling sight—the car was nowhere to be found, and her husband had mysteriously vanished. To compound her predicament, Amnuay had inadvertently left her phone in the car and had no money on her person.

Left with no alternative, she embarked on a grueling 13-mile trek through the middle of the night, making her way to the heart of Kabin Buri. It wasn't until around 5 in the morning that she stumbled upon a police station, where she desperately implored the officers to assist her in locating her husband.

Adding to her woes, she couldn't recall her husband's phone number from memory and attempted to call her own phone a whopping 20 times, all to no avail.

In her plea to the police, she emphasized that their relationship had been harmonious, leaving no grounds to suspect that her husband had intentionally left her behind.

It wasn't until Boontom eventually realized his colossal oversight that he was a staggering 100 miles away. He had to retrace his steps and piece together the puzzle of when and where they had inadvertently parted ways.

Consumed by remorse, Boontom hastened to rejoin his wife and offered a heartfelt explanation for his blunder.

In a stroke of fortune, Amnuary harbored no ill feelings toward her husband for the bewildering episode, and the couple managed to reconcile. With a matrimonial journey spanning over 27 years and a 26-year-old son to their name, their bond remained resilient.

While this peculiar tale serves as a testament to Amnuay's forgiving disposition, it also serves as a poignant reminder to always double-check the backseat before setting off in your car, ensuring you don't inadvertently lose your spouse along the way.
