A 47-year-old man said he cut part of his genitals while asleep on a chair.

The man, Kofi Atta, said he was dreaming of cutting meat while he inadvertently chopped part of his testicles.

The Ghanaian man was rushed to the hospital for treatment after his neighbors rushed in, responding to his scream.

The 47-year-old farmer told BBC News, "I was sitting in my chair when I dozed off. In my sleep, I dreamt that I was cutting some meat in front of me. I don't remember how I picked up the knife."

The neighbors, who responded after hearing him scream, rushed in to rescue him thinking he was being attacked.

However, they found him bleeding and alone in his room, with a portion of his testicles cut off.

They immediately rushed him to the hospital, and he was admitted and is still receiving care.

Attah has since solicited help from friends and well-wishers to raise funds for his treatment.

Doctors have recommended that he undergoes reconstructive surgery.
