The wildly popular urban fantasy series 'Lucifer' will be thrilling fans once more as season five has been given a release date.
As one of the most popular shows on Netflix, it comes as no surprise that many have been waiting eagerly for the new season.
Lovers of the show will get to see secrets revealed and there will be many interesting treats to indulge in.
Official Release Date
The first half of season five of 'Lucifer' will drop on 21 August 2020 - a day that cannot come soon enough for devoted fans.
The new season has been highly anticipated and stars the adored Tom Ellis as the title character once again.
The previous season had only 10 episodes but Netflix decided that more is better. This time around, the season will have 16 episodes.
The series has been split in two, and the first eight will be available from August. No official date has been shared yet.
What Can 'Lucifer' Fans Expect?
There will be many surprises and fantastical delights in the new season of 'Lucifer' and fans will not be disappointed.
The fourth episode is given a noir theme and will feature two singing performances. However, it isn't a musical episode as such.
In season five, fans get to see a musical twist with a whole episode dedicated to music. This will happen in episode 10 - 'Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam'.
The Plot
We won't spoil too much for you but the stakes are higher in the new season.
In season four, Lucifer realised that he could actually be a good person and have romantic feelings for a lady, Chloe Decker.
He returned to Hell though after escaped demons convinced him to take up his job as the ruler once more.
There was also the prophecy of him bringing disaster and chaos if he met his true love.
In the fifth season of 'Lucifer', there are beloved characters who will die and important questions that are answered.
One of the show's screenwriters, Ildy Modrovich, also hinted that there is a new 'toy' that creators got to play with…

The Romance
Fans who have been hoping that Lucifer and Chloe would become an official couple after she admitted her feeling to him.
They shared a kiss but he had to return to Hell, unfortunately. But it looks like there could be more romance for the two in the new season.
When Netflix announced the release date, they also released some of the show's previous steamiest moments.
In the end, we briefly see the couple locked in a kiss that could melt snow and this has everyone hoping that something will go right for them.
