little girl dressed as mary flips off the audience during nativity

‘That’s not very holy’: Little girl accidentally flips the bird to the audience while playing Mary in a school nativity, while trying to show her mom her injured finger.

Daisy Parry-Griffiths raised the middle finger to show her mom Kizzi that she had a plaster. She was four at the time.

Photos of the incident showed Daisy sitting in the center of the stage dressed in her blue Mary costume. She then lifted her middle finger while staring at the camera.

Unaware of what she had done, another picture showed the little girl sitting grinning while looking towards her mom.

The mom said she ‘panicked’ when she saw Daisy’s rude gesture. However, she insisted that her daughter had no idea that what she had done was cheeky.

Kizzi, from Swansea, Wales, said:

“I look forward to the school’s nativity each year to see what she’s going to come up with next.”

“It was her first nativity as well, and when she got the role of Mary. I was so excited for her. Then that happened.”

“We sat down. She was Mary. They were all singing along, and all of a sudden, she starts looking at me and putting her middle finger up.”

The mom added:

“I was looking around thinking, ‘is everyone seeing what I’m seeing?’ She’s such a good child. It’s not like she swears or anything like that.”

“I was looking around, thinking, ‘what’s going on?’. It wasn’t until the end when I collected her that she said when she got into school, she had hurt her finger, and they had put a plaster on it.”

“She was just trying to show me that she had a plaster on her finger.”

“I did a quick message to the parents on the WhatsApp group explaining what she was doing. “Someone said, ‘do you know what, I was wondering what she was doing.'”

“I think everyone was thinking, ‘is she actually [swearing]?’ But yeah, it was just a plaster. It was on her middle finger.”

Daisy’s starring role in the school performance left her family laughing too.

One relative captioned the photo ‘when Santa forgets one of your presents’ while another wrote, ‘when Joseph won’t change the nappy.’

Kizzi said:

“I think she was holding it up for quite a while. It wasn’t just a second or so and a chance photograph that I caught. It was actually her swearing at me.

“I didn’t have a clue about what was going on. I was panicking a little bit, and I didn’t see the funny side because I didn’t know what she was doing.

“When a child comes out with something new, you’re like, ‘Oh God, here we go.’ The fact that she was center stage in the school hall, I was just thinking, ‘what’s going on?'”

“That sigh of relief when she told me what happened, it was like, ‘oh lovely.’ She’s a funny girl.”

The mom also said her now six-year-old daughter had no idea she was swearing.

Kizzi added that the youngster was embarrassed when she recently saw the snaps of the incident.

She said:

“I don’t know if she’s one of the best Mary’s I’ve ever seen in a nativity – not with her middle finger up. She wasn’t Mary the year after.”

“I don’t think she’ll get into acting when she’s older. She’s really shy.”

“She loves it all. But even singing with me if she’s practicing a song from school, I’ve got to be looking away from her. She doesn’t like the spotlight.”

“She’s definitely got such a good sense of humor. She is wise beyond her years.”

The mom added:

“Daisy wouldn’t have a clue what [putting her middle finger up] means.”

“It’s funny because I showed her the memory this year, and she looked quite shocked. She was a bit embarrassed because she didn’t realize what the situation was.”

“I explained it to her and she saw the funny side. But she saw a photo of herself swearing and just reacted like, ‘what?’ She’s learned what it means now.”

“It’s hilarious, the things she does. The next year she was a sheep, and so I joked to the family that she had been demoted from Mary after the swearing incident.”

The mom also said that her daughter wasn’t cast as Mary again after her nativity debut.
