LaLa had been under a lot of pressure to share her story, and finally, she gave in to the ongoing demands and revealed why her marriage to Carmelo Anthony ended. The first time she did it, she talked to Angie Martinez, a friend and a radio show host.
During the tell-all, LaLa also talked about the reality of getting back on the dating scene after a divorce. She filed for divorce earlier in the year.
As far as LaLa is concerned, the dating world has changed in a big way due to the social media age.

"This is a new world," she said. When she got together with Carmelo, there was no Instagram and DMs:
"You meet people differently now."
She explained that she was still trying to figure out this strange new world of dating. She has noticed that guys don't make as much effort as they did the last time she was dating.
In particular, she has realized that these days, guys can simply DM girls asking them to "come through." That explains why guys have a problem going the extra mile for one particular girl: they are getting so many positive responses from so many others.
To her, this is the "wild wild west" of dating, and she is still figuring it out.
However, dating generally takes some getting used to. Furthermore, while many people date to get married, this is not a dream LaLa still has: not after what she has been through.
She first separated from Carmelo in 2017. He was facing accusations of cheating on her and fathering a child with another woman.
Typically, NBA athletes of his status have a reputation for being unfaithful. Nonetheless, LaLa did not expect this to happen to her.
She admitted that she was well aware that NBA players have this disparaging reputation. Still, she was surprised when it happened to her because that was not the kind of relationship she had with him.
The couple talked about everything. They had also been together since he was 19.

Therefore, they grew up together, and they started off as friends before they got married. So, this came as a surprise to her:
"So when shit pops off it's like, damn."
LaLa was also asked if she was "bad" after the problems in her marriage, and she admitted she was. The actress stated:
"I was bad because it was public. I was bad because other people were involved. I was bad because there were allegations... That shit hit me really hard. That came out of nowhere."
Whatever the case, she did not get into this marriage expecting that things would get that bad.
Fortunately, she has held tough, and now, the worst is behind her. Her work, her son Kiyan, and therapy have helped her get her life back on track.
For her, the trick was "finding love and passion in other things."
Staying busy has been helpful therapy during this difficult time. She also tried therapy, although she knows there is some stigma around it.
LaLa recalled that they had spent 15 years together. However, she was still strong enough and had the resilience to bounce back and get back into the dating scene, despite how it changed over time.

The man she is currently focused on at the moment is her son Kiyan. She wants him to know that, regardless of what might happen, her parents will always be family.
While talking about her relationship, she made it clear that she was still friends with Carmelo and that she loved that they still had that friendship:
"We're raising a kid together. It's no drama with us, it's no beef. I talk to him as I talk to my close friend and we still have that."
