Kim Kardashian is finally a single woman after a judge accepts her request to end her marriage to Kanye West. Her name has also changed from Kim West to Kim Kardashian.

The hearing took place through a video call, but her lawyer, Laura Wasser, was in court. Kanye was not part of the proceedings, but his lawyer had no objection to Kim becoming a single woman once again.

Nevertheless, Kanye's lawyer said he had offered his ex-wife Kim three conditions. The first condition was that the right to get reimbursement for money that should be shared between them would be upheld even if one of them dies.

The judge approved this condition.

The judge turned down the other two conditions. Kanye had demanded that Kim transfer any assets she had in trust and waive "marital privilege" after marrying a new partner.

By waiving marital privilege, Kim's spouse would not be allowed to testify about communications he had with Kim. The judge rejected both of these conditions.

At the end of the hearing, Kim addressed some issues during a "prove up." Among the questions, she answered whether there were any problems with the relationship and whether she thought the marriage could be salvaged through counseling.

Kim agreed that there were problems with her relationship with Kanye and said that the marriage could not be saved through counseling.

According to reports, Kanye also wanted the divorce to be granted. Therefore, since Kim is single, he is also single.

Recently, Kanye parted ways with his fourth divorce attorney, Chris Melcher. Limited communication between them made their relationship very difficult.

Allegedly, Kanye proved to be quite difficult to work with. He would demand a divorce one day only to turn around the next day and say he wanted to fight for his marriage.

Kim filed for divorce more than a year ago.

Since December last year, Kim asked the judge to restore her single status. In court documents, she said that she had a very strong desire to be divorced.

Kim also explained that Kanye could not keep the divorce private despite asking him to do so. According to the court document, the social media posts Kanye was sending were causing her "emotional distress."

Despite Kim's desire for divorce, Kanye did not agree to the request right away. Instead, he and his team focused on questioning if the rapper had sent the terrible posts on social media.

Kanye's team also argued that their prenup should be considered invalid.

The claims about someone else posting the social media posts were undermined because Kanye said his accounts had not been hacked.

Kim and her legal team understood that these were all delaying tactics as Kanye tried to win her back. In his attempts to get his wife back, he even attacked her new boyfriend, Pete Davidson.

Based on subsequent reports, Kim Kardashian's paperwork was not filled out correctly. The error had something to do with Kanye's recent name change.

The documents Kim filed referred to the rapper and former husband as Kanye West. Afterward, he changed his name to Ye, and the divorce documents were altered to reflect this change.

Nevertheless, the judge still signed the document. Kim appeared in court through a video call, but she had to take the call from her closet to avoid getting distracted by her four kids.

Otherwise, Kim is now officially a single woman after months of attaining the status.
