Keanu Reeves Took DNA Test To Prove He Is Not The Father Of 4 Kids

In 2020, a woman named Karen Sala made a shocking claim that Keanu Reeves was the father of her four adult children and demanded $3 million per month in spousal support.

Reeves, on the other hand, denied ever having any contact with Sala. Although it comes with the territory of being a famous celebrity in the entertainment industry, dealing with different types of fans, especially out-of-control ones, can be a challenging experience.

Keanu Reeves was summoned to appear in court after Karen Sala's allegations gained attention.

In 2020, Sala claimed that Reeves was the biological father of her four adult children, who were 21, 22, 23, and 25 years old at the time. S

he demanded $150,000 per month in child support from 1988 and a whopping $3 million per month in spousal support, retroactively from 2006.

"I do know for a fact that he is the biological father," she claimed.

According to the woman, who had been previously married, she had an intimate relationship with Reeves during her marriage, and it continued even after the marriage ended.

She claimed they had lived together for a period of time and that he was present during the birth of several of her children.

Sala refused to present evidence of their relationship in court, despite her claims.

Furthermore, she alleged that she and Reeves grew up in the same town of Barrie, but in reality, Reeves lived in Toronto, about 100 kilometers away, before leaving for Hollywood in 1986.

She also claimed that she had known the "Matrix" actor since she was a child, but they had lost touch until they reconnected later on.

Sala also said that Reeves used multiple aliases during their alleged relationship, stating: "I didn't know he was Keanu Reeves. To me, he was Marty Spenser."

Reeves, however, expressed disbelief over the accusation and deemed it as one of the most absurd things he has experienced from a fan.

He said, "I had to go to court. It was horrible. I didn't do it. I'm not the dad." Reeves maintained that he has never met the woman.

According to Reeves' lawyer, Lorne Wolfson, Sala's claims were "completely false and absurd,", especially after her assertion that the "Speed" star used hypnosis to impersonate her ex-husband and impregnate her.

Wolfson stated during their divorce proceedings that he believes Sala's ex-husband is the biological father of her four children.

Sala's children underwent a paternity test to support her claims, but she refused to provide her ex-husband's DNA or produce her children's birth certificates.

"Her evidence is, at best, incredible. There is clearly no triable issue," Wolfson said.

DNA testing revealed that Reeves was not the biological father of the woman's children.

Despite the results, she raised concerns about the accuracy of the tests and suggested that Reeves might have used hypnosis to influence the outcome.

The court eventually dismissed Sala's claims, stating that a trial would be a waste of time and resources.

Judge Fred Graham also expressed to the court that "any sane judge would reject the woman's claims".

Despite the ordeal, Reeves' situation highlights the importance of being cautious when interacting with fans, and while he wasn't the father of Sala's children, he has previously stated his desire to have children of his own.

Keanu Reeves had a child with actress Jennifer Syme, whom he met at a concert for his band, "Dogstar."

The couple started a life together and fell in love. However, their marriage eventually ended, and the loss of their daughter was as painful as their divorce.

Reeves and Syme's relationship began in 1999 and they were overjoyed when Syme became pregnant. However, their joy was short-lived when their daughter, Ava Archer Syme-Reeves, was stillborn a few months into the pregnancy.

The couple struggled to cope with the loss, and Syme's postpartum depression made it even more challenging. The emotional distance between them led to their separation.

In 2001, they were reportedly trying to reconcile, but tragedy struck again.

At the age of 28, Syme was at a party at Marilyn Manson's house when she was involved in a fatal car accident, leaving Reeves devastated.

During the funeral, Reeves assisted other pallbearers in carrying the coffin of his lover to be laid to rest next to their daughter.

In an earlier interview, Reeves spoke about the grief he experienced, stating that it changes shape but never truly ends.

He also expressed feeling lonely when loved ones pass away and sometimes wonders how his life would have been different if they were still here.

The deaths of Ava and Syme were not the only tragedies in the actor's life. When he was only three years old, Reeves' father abandoned the family, leaving his mother to raise him and his siblings alone.

This led to a life of frequent relocations for the family, with them living in different places such as Hawaii, New York, Australia, and Canada.

Despite facing challenges such as dyslexia, Reeves was able to overcome them with the help of his mother's unwavering support.

He left high school at the age of 17 but found success in the film industry after his breakthrough role in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure."

Today, Reeves is considered one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood.
