Kate Winslet refused to be airbrushed for a sex scene in her latest series, Mare of Easttown.

Instead, the Oscar winning actress used these scenes to prove a point.

Kate Winslet Did Nudity Before

Winslet was semi-nude in the Titanic, twice. Once during the steamy sex scene with Leo DiCaprio, and again while his character was painting her.

But that was back when Kate was young, fresh-faced and before having three children.

Now, at 45, the British actress said to the New York Times that she wants viewers to see unfiltered middle-aged women.

Kate stated:

"She's a fully functioning, flawed woman with a body and a face that moves in a way that is synonymous with her age and her life and where she comes from. I think we're starved of that a bit."

Winslet Wants Women To See The Real Bodies

The HBO's series Mare of Easttown director offered to alter Kate Winslet's body. Winslet plays detective sergeant Mare Sheehan and clearly, the actress does not care about Photoshop.

She told the director:

"Don't you dare."

Craig Zobel, tried to cut "a bulgy bit of belly", but he did not get Kate's permission.

However, she doesn't think she will do more nude scenes:

"I'm just not that comfortable doing it anymore. It's not even really an age thing, actually."

She added:

"There comes a point where people are going to go, 'Oh, here she goes again.'"

Refreshing and authentic - no wonder people fell in love with Kate Winslet and continue to worship her craft, as well as her honesty and openness.
