The unexpected testimony comes after Amber Heard mentioned Kate's name during her testimony. Amber alleged that Depp pushed Moss down the stairs.

The Aquaman star said:

"I just see my little sister with her back to the staircase, and Johnny swings at her, and I don't even wait," she said, adding: "In my head, I just instantly think of Kate Moss and the stairs and I swung at him."

After Heard said that, Depp's team celebrated, as this meant that Moss could be called a witness of Depp's character.

Kate and Johnny dated for four years during the 90s. The Pirates of the Caribbean defended his ex-girlfriend in 2005 when she lost several contracts after she was pictured with a line of cocaine.

During the libel trial against The Sun, Heard claimed she heard about the incident from two people. However, it was never reported and was not even in the gossip columns.

Mitra Ahouraian, an entertainment lawyer, told the NY Post: "That's one mistake that [Amber Heard] made was bringing up Kate Moss, which potentially opened the door to [Depp's team] bringing [Moss] on as an impeachment witness – and Moss saying, 'This never happened.'"

Kate never reported any violence and has praised Depp in the past.

The bombshell trial is expected to end its proceedings this Friday.
