Pop sensation Justin Bieber was forced to reschedule his tour dates due to facial paralysis caused by a virus.
The musician previously took to Instagram to announce that he would postpone the"next few shows." He did not say why.
In his Instagram stories, he wrote that his (undisclosed) illness got worse.
Now, he posted a video on TikTok and Instagram, explaining that he suffers from Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
The singer told his fans:
"I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome and is from this virus that attacks the nerves in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis."
He tried moving the right side of his face but failed:
"As you can see, this eye is not blinking."
The singer continued:
"I can't smile on this side of my face, this nostril will not move. There's full paralysis of this side of my face."
Bieber said he felt "frustrated by cancellations of my next shows," but he is "physically not capable of doing them."
He added that the syndrome is "pretty serious, as you can see."
Bieber stated he is doing "all sorts of facial exercises" to get better as soon as possible.
He promised his fans that he would be okay, saying:
"It will go back to normal, it's just time, and we don't know how much time it's going to be, but it's going to be OK. I have hope, and I trust God, and I trust this is all going to be OK."
The Canadian superstar canceled his Purpose tour as it is believed that the virus attacked the nerves in his ear.
