A US judge has instructed a medical center to disclose Cardi B's STD test results in her defamation case against vlogger Latasha Kebe. The Center for Women's Pelvic Health at UCLA has been directed by Judge William M. Ray II to release all medical records related specifically to Herpes and HPV testing for Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, as per Billboard.
1. Cardi B's defamation case makes some serious accusations
In the lawsuit brought by the rapper, Latasha Kebe is accused of launching a "malicious campaign" to damage Cardi's reputation. This campaign involved the publication of numerous videos that alleged Cardi B's involvement in prostitution, drug consumption, and having sexually transmitted diseases.
2. The STD results are important to Cardi's case
The reason behind this request is that a negative result on Cardi's STD tests could potentially bolster her case against Kebe. Although Kebe's legal team was the one seeking the test results, Cardi B's lawyers had already proactively provided the evidence on behalf of the rapper earlier in the proceedings, according to Billboard.
3. The case has been going on for more than two years
In the initial stages following Cardi B's legal action, Kebe attempted to file a counter lawsuit, alleging that the rapper's supporters had been harassing her on social media. However, a judge dismissed this claim due to lack of evidence. Later, in November, Cardi B requested to delay the trial until January due to a family emergency, which Kebe argued was a fabricated excuse. Nonetheless, the judge ruled in favor of Cardi.
4. The trial will begin on January 5
The outcome of this case is yet to be determined, but it is hoped that justice will be served.
