Journalist Tries To Shame Man For Proposing In KFC. It Backfires Hilariously As The Biggest Companies Are Offering To Fund Their Wedding Joshua Published in Feb 2021 / Updated in Aug 2021 True love is full of unexpected mysteries. In fact, when the love is real, money is never the major concern. It never really matters what you eat, how much you earn, or how much schooling you have had. However, some people don’t think love can (or should) exist in the absence of money. That explains why someone tried to shame a man who proposed to his girlfriend at a South African KFC restaurant. For the couple, and countless other romantics, it was an unforgettable time worth documenting. However, someone thought it was a time to shame the man and prove to the world how broke he was for proposing at a KFC. The joke, however, was on her because the couple got a lot of love from people who were willing to spend their money to make this a successful love story complete with a colorful wedding. The KFC Proposal The proposal is as touching as can be. It was recorded by a passerby who saw the man kneeling and proposing to his girl. It was the man’s lucky day because the lady enthusiastically agreed to his proposal in tearful joy. It was an incredibly happy moment for the two lovebirds. The Journalist’s Hate Rather than appreciate the beauty of this moment, a journalist chose to focus on how “broke” the man was. She claimed that “SA [South African] men are so broke they even propose at KFC. They have no class. I mean, who proposes at KFC.” After the post, a lot of people were angry at Anele. They had trouble understanding why someone would try to drag the man down for proposing to his girlfriend when she was so thrilled about it. She has since taken down the post, and the account is now private. KFC Seeks The Couple When KFC South Africa saw the video, they reposted it asking people to help find the couple. They said in a tweet: “Please help us find this beautiful couple, [we want to be blessers.] DM us any leads, there might be a Finger Lickin’ Good surprise in it for you too. [Vaal people, help us]! We love love.” Several International Brands Came To The Couple’s Aid Several international brands lined up to help the couple have their dream wedding. They included PUMA, Huawei, McDonald’s, Uber, and even Audi. PUMA gave them a voucher worth R10,000, which is about $680. Huawei gave them two phones. However, Standard Bank did them the greatest favor by offering to clear their loans of about R300,000 (over $20,000). McDonald’s offered to give the couple an all-expenses-paid trip to Cape Town to enjoy VIP entertainment at Toni Braxton’s #AsLongAsILive tour. Uber offered to get the couple moving during their honeymoon. Audi South Africa also offered to help the couple get to their promised destinations. Additionally, the couple also got groceries worth over $1,300 from Koo. In fact, the people on the internet ended up taking care of everything, including the wedding rings. Other things offered included wedding cakes, Spa treatments, wedding accessories, bedroom and kitchen furniture, and even food for the event. Everyone was thrilled at how enthusiastic KFC was and how beautifully everything unfolded. On their Twitter page, KFC expressed their gratitude for the people who had stepped in to make the lovely love story even more unique. “Our bucket overflows with love,” they wrote. Still, they didn’t take kindly to a snide comment about their soup. However, all in all, everyone was thrilled that this beautiful love story went down as well as it did. We wonder how the journalist who tried to shame the couple felt about this outpouring of love.
