Johnny Depp scored a major win in the ongoing battle with his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

Depp previously lost a case against the tabloid The Sun for calling him a "wife-beater."

In March this year, the former Pirates of the Caribbean star was denied an appeal to his failed libel case against the tabloid.

However, things are looking up, and the claims actor made against his ex are now officially valid.

The Divorce Settlement - Where Did The Money Go?

Depp and Heard divorced in 2016. She promised to split the seven million dollars she received from her ex-husband between the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Depp's lawyer Andrew Caldecott called this promise a "calculated and manipulative lie" that "tipped the scales against Mr. Depp from the very beginning."

And it seems that Depp and his team were right.

The actress, who is currently training for Aquaman 2, though fans started petitions to remove her from the franchise, repeated recently in a witness statement that she "remained financially independent from [Depp] the whole time we were together, and the entire amount of my divorce settlement was donated to the charity."

Depp's team of lawyers filed a petition with the New York Supreme Court for the ACLU, asking for Amber's claims to be examined.

The judge ruled in favor of 23 out of the 24 requests in the "motion to compel. The only request that was denied was related to Amber's role as ACLU brand ambassador.

The actress previously denied proving her charitable role. Now, she has no choice.

Depp and Heard both accused each other of violence.

However, only Depp suffered major consequences, from losing his public image to roles, such as in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

In the meantime, Amber Heard kept her roles and even became known as a domestic violence survivor.

The new mom is finally facing a real possibility to get her share of responsibilities for a volatile marriage that destroyed Depp's career. Of course, if she indeed failed to deliver on her very public promise.
