After Amber Heard wrote an op-ed in Washington Post in 2018, describing but not naming Johny Depp while talking about being a victim of domestic abuse, Depp filed a lawsuit for defamation.

Depp took to the stand in an attempt to clear his name. His deposition lasted for hours, where the actor went in-depth about his mother and marriage.

When he was asked to describe the beginning of the relationship, Depp said that Amber was "too good to be true," explaining:

"She was attentive, she was loving, she was smart, she was kind, she was funny, she was understanding. We had many things in common."

The actor continued:

"Within a year, year and a half, she had become another person, almost."

Amber did not appear to be touched by her ex-husband's words. It will be interesting to see the Aquaman's star take on the matter.

Depp and Heard separated and divorced in 2016 after she claimed he was physically abusive. They were married for 15 months.
