Johnny Depp Moved To Tears As He Receives Standing Ovation For His New Movie

Johnny Depp fights back tears as he gets a standing ovation for his latest film.

The 59-year-old star of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has appeared in several blockbuster movies, including Edward Scissorhands and Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

However, due to his widely publicized defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, he has been removed from multiple projects and brands.

This encompasses the Fantastic Beast franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and his collaboration with Audi, the car manufacturer.

However, Depp has secured his first starring role in three years.

The 59-year-old is slated to take on the lead role in an independent French film titled Jeanne du Barry. This biographical drama portrays the story of Madame du Barry (Maïwenn, who also directs the film) and her romantic involvement with King Louis XV (portrayed by Depp).

The actor known for his role in Alice in Wonderland made a comeback on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, where the movie was showcased and received resounding applause from the audience.

According to Variety, he was met with thousands of fans enthusiastically shouting his name and chanting: "Johnny, Johnny, we support you."

According to reports, even a young woman cried while attempting to grab Depp's attention.

As Variety reported, Jeanne du Barry debuted at the festival and garnered praise, receiving a standing ovation of seven minutes from the audience.

The actor from What's Eating Gilbert Grape fought back tears as the audience in the South of France cheered him on for his portrayal of King Louis XV.

Depp acknowledged the audience from the balcony with a wave, clearly surprised by the reaction he received.

Fans of the actor took to social media to congratulate Depp on his comeback.

"He deserves this!!" writes one person.

Another person comments: "I'm so happy for him, he needed this and he deserves it. You really can't keep a good man down for long."

A third adds: "Well deserved; he's a lovely guy, so happy for him finally getting his life back."

"Wonderful… can't wait to see the movie!" comments a fifth.

While he is experiencing a resurgence, Heard has left Hollywood and relocated to Spain with a new identity.

The actress from Aquaman has reportedly been seen on the Spanish island of Palma de Mallorca.

It is believed that Heard is prioritizing her role as a mother while raising her daughter, Oonagh Paige.

She reportedly uses the alias Martha Jane Canary, although this has yet to be officially verified.
