Recently, it was reported that Johnny Depp would appear in Rihanna's Fenty Fashion show. That would make him the first male celebrity to get the honor.
The Pirates of The Caribbean actor's appearance on the singer's catwalk got her a lot of criticism.
Earlier in the year, Depp won a highly publicized defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
The Aquaman actress had written a Washington Post article saying she was a victim of domestic violence while married to him.
Amber did not mention Depp by name, but people could connect the dots and figure out he was the person she was talking about.
In his case against her, the 59-year-old actor said that the allegations cost him millions of dollars and caused serious damage to his career. In the end, the court awarded him about $15 million in damages.
Amber Heard also got an award of $2 million in compensatory damages.
Since the end of the case, things have improved for Depp. For instance, he is working on a new movie, and he also got a chance to go on a rock tour with Jeff Beck.
Recently, he was in Rihanna's fashion show for Fenty. He could be seen walking through dimly lit woods.
Around him were dancers and "So Fresh, So Clean" by Outkast was playing in the background.
In the end, he walked towards a tree and leaned against it.
Following his role in the promotion, Rihanna faced a lot of criticism from Amber Heard fans.
A user commented saying:
"If she's not dumping pig's blood all over his head, I don't know why she could possibly think this is a good idea. Very disgusting and embarrassing for her."
Another asked: "Tell me again about how sexual assault allegations ruin men's lives?"
A different person criticized Rihanna asking her if Depp was the man she wanted representing her brand considering that he had said that women were "c*m-guzzlers."
In a follow-up show, Lourdes Leon, Madonna's daughter, Gigi Hadid, and Vanessa Hudgens were involved.
