John Travolta vowed to 'always remember' his wife Kelly Preston's 'love and life' following her death.

The 57-year-old actress passed away after secretly battling breast cancer for two years. And her husband Travolta honored his 'beautiful wife' with a heartfelt social media tribute.

Alongside a photo of Kelly, the Grease star wrote on Instagram:

"It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer."

"She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many."

Travolta added:

"My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Cente, all medical centers that have helped as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side."

"Kelly's love and life will always be remembered."

"I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother. So forgive me in advance if you don't hear from us for a while."

"But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal."

A family representative also spoke to PEOPLE magazine, revealing the late actress chose to keep her illness private.

The representative said:

"Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends."

"She was a bright, beautiful, and loving soul who cared deeply about others. [Kelly] brought life to everything she touched."

Aside from Travolta, Kelly is survived by daughter Ella, 20, and nine-year-old son Benjamin. Their 16-year-old son Jett passed away in 2009 after suffering a seizure.

The couple celebrated their 28th anniversary in September last year.

Travolta and Kelly met in 1987 while filming The Experts.

After dating briefly, Travolta proposed at the Palace Hotel restaurant in Gstaad, Switzerland, on New Year's Eve 1991. They married on Sept. 5, 1991.

Kelly's final Instagram post was a family selfie in celebration of Father's Day in June.

Capturing their son Ben and daughter Ella, she captioned the photo:

"Happy Father's Day to the best one I know, we love you."

The actress's final film role was in the 2018 film Gotti. She played Victoria Gotti, the wife of Mafia boss John Gotti, who was portrayed on screen by Travolta.
