A fan on TikTok, @sugeneshin_, observed that Ortega pronounced Rihanna's name differently than they expected and shared their thoughts on the video-sharing platform.

Confessing they had been mispronouncing the singer's name, other fans also admitted they had made the same mistake.

It was discovered that the correct pronunciation of Rihanna's name is Ree-an-nah, not Ree-awh-na as previously believed by some.

Rihanna's make-up brand, Fenty Beauty, appreciated Ortega's correct pronunciation, commenting on one video: "Miss Wednesday understood the assignment."

Some were surprised they had been pronouncing it incorrectly all along, with one person commenting: "I've been pronouncing it wrong my whole life?!??"

Another said: "Dang...so I've been saying her name wrong my whole life?!! I feel embarrassed now. I had NO idea that was how you correctly pronounce her name!"

A third said: "Now everyone is gonna pronounce the way she said rihannas name after seeing this video."
