The richest man on the planet, Amazon's CEO, Jeff Bezos, announced on his Instagram that he donated 10 billion dollars to help fight climate changes.
This is just the beginning, as the billionaire said that this first installment goes to 16 organizations and scientists working on saving the planet.
As Bezos stated, all of these people are working towards "innovative, ambitious, and needle-moving solutions".
Bezos Earth Fund
Amazon's CEO told the world, back in February 2020, that he's planning to give his best to save the Earth. He started the Bezos Earth Fund, which came to life with this first donation.

At the time, he stated:
"Climate change is the biggest threat to our planet. I want to work alongside others both to amplify known ways and to explore new ways of fighting the devastating impact of climate change on this planet we all share."
"This global initiative will fund scientists, activists, NGOs – any effort that offers a real possibility to help preserve and protect the natural world. We can save Earth. It will take collective action from big companies, small companies, nation-states, global organizations, and individuals. "
He posted a photo of our planet on his Instagram with this caption, and now he's putting his money where his mouth is.

One of the organizations that thanked Bezos publicly was the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). They revealed that WWF had been given $100 million to "harness the power of nature to stabilize the climate crisis."
Another organization, the ClimateWorks Foundation, has received a 50 million dollar grant that will help support zero-emission trucks, zero-emission shipping, and climate-friendly cement and steel production.
The list of 10 billion grantees
In his latest post, Bezos stated:
"I've spent the past several months learning from a group of incredibly smart people who've made it their life's work to fight climate change and its impact on communities around the world. I'm inspired by what they're doing and excited to help them scale."
He continued:
"This $791 million in donations is just the beginning of my $10 billion commitment to fund scientists, activists, NGOs, and others. We can all protect Earth's future by taking bold action now."

The Grantees Listed Include:
The Climate and Clean Energy Equity Fund
