After speculation in 2016, Jared Leto finally confirmed he will play Andy Warhol in an upcoming movie.
The actor and 30 Seconds to Mars singer expressed gratitude on his Instagram account, confirming what many already suspected.
The news came a day after fans celebrated Andy Warhol's 92. birthday. The artist, pop art God, and one of the most eccentric figures of the XX century, died in 1987 due to heart and bladder problems.
Jared Leto And Transformations

As Jordan Catalano, Jared Leto stole our hearts back in the late 90s, in the show My So-Called Life.
Then, he became a superstar, but mostly due to his band 30 Seconds To Mars and his love life.
However, he made a great comeback in 2013's Dallas Buyers Club and got his first Oscar.
Leto was also part of the Batman franchise. He played Joker in 2016's Suicide Squad, but he was no Heath Ledger or Joaquin Phoenix.
Though his movie career had ups and downs, it's clear that Warhol is a role made for Leto. Both artists are not what you would call typical celebrities, though they enjoy being permanent A-listers.
Leto's newest role is in the comic book, again. He'll play the character Michael Morbius in the thriller Morbius. The film follows the scientist as he attempts to cure himself of a rare blood disorder.
Making Of Warhol The Movie

So far, we know almost nothing about the upcoming movie. The 48-year-old Leto confirmed that he'd play Warhol, but there's not much about to add.
He stated:
Yes, it's true I will be playing Andy Warhol in an upcoming film," Leto wrote in the caption. "And so grateful and excited about the opportunity. Happy belated birthday, Andy. We miss you and your genius.
In 2016, when we first heard about the movie, the title was supposed to be simply Warhol, and no one knows whether he's talking about the same or some fresh project.
Previously, we saw David Bowie's portrayal of Andy Warhol in Basquiat in 1996. It's not among the most popular films, but you should check it out if you're a Bowie fan or need something with fewer superheroes.
As for Warhol, many people claim he's overrated, and, indeed, this artist always caused controversy. The man himself was private, but he was the original influencer.
Warhol's American success story is still a mystery. He was a prophet, and some even believe that the artist predicted the rise of social media.
We know for sure that he was right about one thing:
Everyone will be famous for 15 minutes.
Hopefully, the movie won't flop because we need a good story of the pop art leader, filmmaker, and the man who made The Factory.
And let's face it, both Leto and Warhol have a certain level of celebrity creepiness, which is kind of cool yet so scary. We will have to wait and see whether this was a good match.
