Do you feel like staying home instead of going to a club? Do you think that it is unnecessary to have a large number of friends? If your answer is YES, you might be thinking you are antisocial, but wait a minute. A study from NCBI might suggest otherwise.
The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), in their recent study, has concluded that people with higher levels of intelligence prefer to have fewer social interactions and associate with a fewer number of people. The same study shows that the life satisfaction of the people who choose to live this kind of life increases. The study concludes that they would be happier with only interactions with family and close friends instead of strangers or even acquaintances.
In this study group, the people who preferred the least social interactions were also the most intelligent of them all. Carol Graham, who is currently studying the economics of happiness, said that the people with higher intelligence and those who know how to use it would less likely try to socialize. Instead, they will be looking to achieve some long-term goals that they have in their minds.
So the next time you have the urge to stay home instead of going out for the night or to any type of social gathering, keep in mind that you might just be the intelligent one instead of the anti-social one.
