In just a few days, Kylie Jenner has lost almost a million followers on Instagram due to her actions that appeared to be ridiculing Selena Gomez.

To bring you up to speed, the TV personality and her friend Hailey Bieber were alleged to have made fun of Selena for over-laminating her eyebrows by accident.

Shortly after the singer's amusing video about her eyebrow mishap, Kylie posted two Instagram Stories. The first one displayed her face with the following text: "Was this an accident???"

Afterward, she posted a screenshot of herself and Hailey on a Facetime call, with a focus on their eyebrows.

A lot of fans interpreted this as a slight, and as a result, the two buddies have been labeled as the 'mean girls' of social media.

Despite speculations that the posts were intended to ridicule Selena, both she and Kylie went to the comments section of a TikTok video regarding the supposed controversy to clarify the situation.

The latter initiated the conversation by writing: "This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly."

The singer also seemed eager to dismiss the rumors by responding to Kylie's message: "Agreed @kyliejenner. It's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie!"

The conclusion... just kidding.

Although the celebrities are adamant that there is no animosity between them, fans are not convinced and the majority are supporting Selena's stance.

This is evidenced by their respective Instagram follower counts.

In our previous report, we mentioned the latest statistics indicating that Kylie's Instagram page lost a significant 124,711 followers on Wednesday (February 22) alone.

However, this number has continued to decline as the latest data from Social Blade shows that she has now lost almost 750,000 followers since February 22nd.

Having said that, for Jenner, this is just a drop in the bucket as she still has an enormous 379 million followers on her account.

On the other hand, the entire situation has had a positive outcome for Selena, who recently surpassed Kylie as the most followed woman on Instagram.

During the same timeframe, the star of "Spring Breakers" has acquired over 7.4 million new followers, increasing her count from over 380 million to 388 million.

Although the majority of fans seem to be supporting Selena, she has chosen to take a break from social media.

The singer explained: "I'm going to be taking a second from social media, because this is a little silly."

"I'm 30 and am too old for this. But I love you so much and I'll see you guys sooner than later."

"I'm just gonna take a break from everything."
