Iconic Music Legend Tina Turner Passes Away At 83

The passing of Tina Turner, the iconic music legend, has been confirmed by her publicist. She left this world at the age of 83.

The famous musician Tina Turner, who was born Anna Mae Bullock in Nutbush, Tennessee, rocked the music scene for more than 60 years.

She gained worldwide fame and had a star on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the St. Louis Walk of Fame.

This incredible music star sold over 100 million records worldwide, which makes her one of the most successful artists ever.

She won 12 Grammy Awards, including three Grammy Hall of Fame awards and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, which shows how groundbreaking she was.

Turner made history as the first woman to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Later, the same magazine ranked her among the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, solidifying her legendary status.

Tina Turner's autobiography, 'I, Tina', became the basis for the 1993 movie called "What's Love Got To Do With It." The film portrayed her well-known tumultuous relationship with Ike Turner, and Angela Bassett's portrayal of Tina earned her an Oscar nomination.

In 2021, Bassett had the honor of inducting Tina Turner into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist.

Several artists, including Beyoncé, have acknowledged Turner as an inspiration. Beyoncé's dynamic presence on stage has often drawn comparisons to Turner.

In 2005, Beyoncé performed a cover of "Proud Mary" at the Kennedy Center Honors Tina Turner Tribute, and it received a stamp of approval from the legendary icon herself.

Turner tied the knot with her longtime partner, Erwin Bach, who is a music executive from Germany. They got married in 2013 in a Swiss civil ceremony and have been living together in Switzerland since 1994.

This was Turner's second marriage. Before that, she was married to musician Ike from 1962 to 1978.

In her book published in 1986, the singer bravely shared a distressing story of abuse, including enduring a broken nose during her marriage to Ike.

Ike passed away in December 2007, and Turner's spokesperson at the time mentioned that Tina was aware of his passing but hadn't been in contact with him for 35 years. No further comments were made regarding the matter.

Turner retired from performing in 2009. In recent years, she faced health challenges, including being diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2016 and undergoing a kidney transplant in 2017.
