However, this tech giant's cameras also capture people going about their day to day lives.
This can result in all kinds of intriguing sights, from hilarious photo fails to creepy goings-on.
Still, sometimes this Google Street View can prove both shocking and eye-opening. This is the case for one man in Peru.
While looking up the best routes to a popular bridge, the Street View tool captured his wife cozying up on a bench with another man.

In the photo, the woman was wearing an identical outfit as his wife.
She wore a back top with a white shirt and black jeans and boots, and the husband had seen her wife dressed like that often.
The woman was sitting on a bench while a man rested his head in her lap. She appeared to be stroking the man's hair, sharing an intimate moment.
Although the woman's face is blurred, as is customary on Google Maps, the husband recognized her.

The husband then confronted his wife over what he had seen. And she admitted she was having an affair.
The confession led to a permanent breakup of their relationship. According to reports, the couple divorced soon after the incident.
The man also shared the photos on social media, and many couldn't believe the coincidence.
Others shared their disgust because the women didn't come clean until the husband caught her.
Google Street View is Always on the Watch, So be Careful What You're Doing out There
Recently, Google cameras captured this dude who was creepily waiting for someone to come in and poop in a porta-potty.
Besides him, his dog was keeping watch. Bad dog! What's wrong with you, helping out peeping toms like that!

In another incident, Google captured this kid pooping in the wild.

You run out in a grassy knoll away from society because you really need to take a poo.
Thinking you are all by your lonesome, then, out of nowhere, the Google car comes rolling along, capturing you in an indecent pose for all eternity.
These privacy-invading Google cameras don't stop there as they recently captured people in pigeon masks in Japan.

I really hope whoever these pigeon people knew the Google Maps mobile was down their street. They wore the mask as a prank.
