In a stressed-out world, it's easy to ignore the signs of being mentally and emotionally exhausted. Listen to your body; it's sending you signals that you need to slow down, not to burn out.
When we find ourselves in tough situations, instead of slowing down, we are entering deeper into despair. We should stop pushing, and start taking care of ourselves.
The feeling of being drained all the time doesn't come overnight. Here are the most common symptoms your body's sending you.
Insomnia And Interrupted Sleeping Patterns
All you want to do is sleep. Ironically, no matter how much you try, your mind is spinning.
It's frustrating, irritating, and only leads to further stresses.
You Need To Cry
Suddenly, everything is making you want to cry. You're at that point where you feel everything more intense, and you're losing control.
A good cry is heeling. It's a natural way to get rid of all the stresses and negativity. But, it's also a warning sign that you're exhausted.
Numbness
Feeling spaced out, numb, is one of the most severe warning signs of exhaustion.
You're burned out, and your mind and body are seeking comfort by avoiding reality. It's a scary and hopeless feeling, but can be solved by taking time off and going back to things that made you enjoy life.
You're Easily Agitated, Irritated And Anxious
Even a silly joke can trigger negative emotions. You're going from being annoyed to highly anxious, in a heartbeat.
Your emotions are all over the place. Your mind has no idea how to deal with all the pressure. Additionally, you're not sleeping well or eating correctly, so the whole system is on the verge of shutting down.
Motivation Level: Zero
It's hard to concentrate, even harder to get creative. You're pushing yourself, while at the same time, you're fighting the exhaustion. You need a break.
Other Warning Symptoms
Feeling dizzy or nauseous are common symptoms of burn out syndrome.
Your body is like a well-oiled machine, and once pieces stop working, each part is under the attack.
Anxiety, panic attacks, lack of inspiration and hope, sleeping disorders, are all signs that you have to take a break. The heeling process might require therapy. If you can't afford it, start meditating, eating healthy, exercising, stepping back into the life that made you feel authentic and content.
Being mentally and emotionally exhausted is the new normal. At least that's what we are supposed to believe. But how can you believe something when your body's telling you that you're not alright?
