North Carolina lovebirds, who recently celebrated more than 82 years of love, joy, and laughter on their wedding anniversary, reveals to us the secret of a life-long marriage.

D.W. Williams, 103, and his wife Willie, 100, not only celebrated their birthdays together, which are just 7 days apart, but also a staggering 82 years of marriage.

The trifecta milestone event was commemorated with a big party at First Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Their granddaughter, Williams-Greene, told the news outlet that 'to see them at this age and still doing well; it's just a blessing to have them here.' She added that they're each other's 'best friend.'

D.W. and Willie said they remember meeting when cab rides were just 10 cents.

While lots of things have changed over their eight decades plus marriage, their love for each other has remained as strong as it has ever been.

Their marriage has survived the Great Depression, WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Era, and 9/11. It's incredibly lucky for them to have each other through these changing times.

When asked about their secret to their extraordinarily long marriage, the couple had a simple piece of advice, "Just be kind to each other."

When one of their daughter and granddaughter threw them the party, local media quickly caught wind of the story. All their relatives were invited to the ceremony.

According to granddaughter Williams-Greene, their grandparents represent a living inspiration for long-standing, healthy, and loving relationships.

She added that their marriage worked because of "communication and loving each other and working together."
