A dad shares a heartbreaking video of his 10-year-old son hiding from a police car driving down their street.

Amid the racism crisis, numerous people have been sharing interactions they've had with cops - whether good or bad.

But one particular footage of a 10-year-old boy from Connecticut has captured worldwide attention, and it's heartbreaking.

The short clip shows the boy, Eliah, playing with a basketball on the driveway of their home.

Then, he notices a police car driving down his street and immediately stops what he's doing.

Though the young boy isn't doing anything wrong, he hides behind a parked car on the driveway.

He stays hidden until the police car is out of sight and then resumes his game.

This video was captured on CCTV outside the boy's home.

And Eliah's dad, Stacey Pierre-Louis, shared the footage explaining how it "floored" him.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote:

"Debated with myself for a few days before deciding to post this."

"I was at work watching my son shoot hoops in the driveway when I caught this. It floored me… I'll save the dramatics, but growing up black or brown most of the time means fearing the police vs looking up to them."

"I live in an affluent neighborhood in Trumbull with a really good school system."

"This kid has all the opportunity to do/be whatever he wants, unlike many kids who look like him because resources aren't made available."

"Why does he feel like he has to hide when he isn't doing anything wrong?"

The dad also explained that when he asked his son why he hid from the officers, he replied, 'because they killed George Floyd.'

Stacey said he didn't know what to respond to his son to 'make it better.'

He continued:

"A manager at my job told me to tell him that doing what he did is ridiculous. And that I should teach him not to be fearful of police."

"Deep down, I don't know if it's true, maybe staying out of the way is best."

"He didn't learn this behavior at home. We stream movies, so he doesn't see the news. We don't talk negatively about the police."

The clip has since gone viral, with the likes of basketball star LeBron James sharing it on Twitter.

LeBron reacted to the video, saying it 'breaks his heart.'

After the video garnered so much attention, Stacey claims he's been inundated with supportive messages from across the world.

Stacey now hopes the clip will help 'bring us together in this fight [against racism] and inspire change for the better.'
