Daniel Radcliffe, the star of the Harry Potter franchise, is set to become a father for the first time with his long-time girlfriend, Erin Darke.

The news was confirmed by a representative to US Weekly. The 33-year-old actor has been in a relationship with Darke for over a decade since they first met on the set of the movie Kill Your Darlings, in which they both appeared.

Although Radcliffe is widely recognized for his role as Harry Potter in one of cinema's biggest franchises, he has spent the last decade focusing on passion projects such as Swiss Army Man, Guns Akimbo, and most recently portraying Weird Al Yankovic in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.

His girlfriend, Erin Darke, is also an actor, and has notably appeared in Amazon Prime Video's series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The couple recently appeared together in Miracle Workers, a series that Radcliffe stars in and executive produces.

Regarding the experience, he shared:

"We definitely like [working together], but it's not something we want to do all the time."

"Hopefully we'll get to do more in the future, but we also both write. So maybe we'd write something together at some point, and that would be cool."

Although they typically maintain a low profile when it comes to their personal life, Radcliffe has previously discussed the first time he met Darke in an interview with People Magazine. He made a joke about the fact that they had to perform a sex scene together in the movie they were co-starring in.

"It'll be a hell of a story to tell our kids one day because of what our characters do with each other. Our characters are meeting and flirting with each other, so there is this kind of sweet record of us just meeting for the first time and flirting."

"There's no acting going on - not from my end, anyway. There's a moment when she makes me laugh, and I'm laughing as me and not as my character," he further shared.

"She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble."

The actor is now the second member of the iconic Harry Potter trio to become a parent. Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the series, welcomed a daughter named Wednesday G. Grint in 2020 with his partner Georgia Groome.

In case you're curious, the baby girl was named after Wednesday Addams, as the actor confirmed hesitantly to Jimmy Fallon.

Regarding the matter, he stated: "It's a good name, isn't it? I'm always hesitant to say it was The Addams Family but it was, yeah, kind of The Addams Family Just always loved the name, it's a good name, memorable."
