2020 hasn’t been the best, but that doesn’t mean Halloween has to be a total flop. There will be magic in the air this October 31st, thanks to a rare blue moon.
Halloween the spookiest night of the year, a time when the veil is at its thinnest, allowing strong emotional connections with those that have passed over. Now we can triple that energy by adding a full blue moon. Bring on the magic!
Contrary to all the Halloween images and movies we see, a full moon at Halloween doesn’t happen very often. The last time the full moon fell on Halloween was Wednesday, October 31st, 2001, and the next time we will see one won’t be until Monday, October 31st, 2039.
What Is A Blue Moon?
October 2020 started with a full moon on the 1st, and now a full moon on the 31st. When there are two full moons in a calendar month, the second one is known as a Blue Moon.
The moon itself doesn’t look blue. This whole year has been a little different, so of course, we’re getting a rare Halloween Blue Moon.
October’s first full Moon was called the Harvest Moon, and the second one coming up for Halloween is called the Hunter’s Moon.
It is believed that the veils between worlds are at it’s thinnest at Halloween. We are at the halfway point between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice. This is the turning point that we get ready for shorter days and colder weather. This is when the season entices us to look inward and do some self-reflecting on ourselves and our relationships.
Full Moon in Taurus
Halloween’s full blue moon is in Taurus, a great earthy sign to help you explore, ask questions, and reflect. Taurus is rooted in the magic of the earth. It can help us get rooted and centered in our own being, mind, body, and souls. It will also help shake up any areas of your life that feel stagnant or areas in your life that you might feel stuck.
October’s full moon is an event that reminds us that with the right intentions and action, anything is possible. To confine yourself to certain ways of thinking or doing things. Take this time to sit with yourself and let your soul speak.
Due to the full moon, energy, emotions, feelings, and mental abilities are amplified. When the Sun and Moon oppose each other during a full moon, sometimes we can feel opposing tension and friction.
Use this energy to put things to bed, wrap up loose ends, and find closure where needed. Uranus, the planet of change, is aspecting both the moon and the sun during this full moon.
So be prepared for some unexpected changes of heart or diversions to original plans. Uranus will also add a sprinkle of unpredictability to this Halloween’s full moon.
The message from this full moon is to get back to our authentic selves. Look deeply at our core values in life. Ask yourself what it is you really want from life, what are you deeply passionate about?
Sit with your inner child and remember what is important to you that you may have forgotten.
