Halloween is the spookiest night of the year, a time when the veil is at its thinnest, allowing strong emotional connections with those that have passed over. Now we can triple that energy by adding a full blue moon. Bring on the magic!

Contrary to all the Halloween images and movies we see, a full moon at Halloween doesn't happen very often. The last time the full moon fell on Halloween was Wednesday, October 31st, 2001, and the next time we will see one won't be until Monday, October 31st, 2039.

What Is A Blue Moon?

October 2020 started with a full moon on the 1st, and now a full moon on the 31st. When there are two full moons in a calendar month, the second one is known as a Blue Moon.

The moon itself doesn't look blue. This whole year has been a little different, so of course, we're getting a rare Halloween Blue Moon.

October's first full Moon was called the Harvest Moon, and the second one coming up for Halloween is called the Hunter's Moon.

It is believed that the veils between worlds are at their thinnest at Halloween. We are at the halfway point between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice.
