What is the highest amount you have ever paid for a hairstyle? Would you pay $2,000 for cutting and dying your hair?
Well, there is this hairstylist on TikTok who is getting all kinds of hate for charging almost two grand for a straight cut and color.
Jasmine Policarpo Featured Her Job On TikTok

The video was posted by user @byprado_ showing hairstylist Policarpo showing off what she did for one of her clients. Above is the before picture.
She charged $150 per hour for the cut and color process. It took 13 hours to complete the process. At $150 per hour, that amounted to $1,950. Sounds like a lot, right?

The Hair Turned Out Great But...

Although many commenters felt that the hair looked great, they disagreed that it was $1,950 great.
When Policarpo was asked why she charged that much, she told Newsweek that she believes she charges a fair price for the services she provides.
One commenter asked why it took that long, but instead of giving a direct answer, she talked about how special her services were and refused to answer the question.

The video garnered about 180,000 likes in addition to millions of views. Well, not only will Policarpo make money off her hairstyling services but her fame from her TikTok video, which went viral.

That Remains A Lot To Spend
In truth, each hairstylist is entitled to how much they want to charge based on how much time and effort they invest into their trade, including what expensive products they use. But do you agree that this particular hair venture cost too much?
Policarpo did get people who supported her, emphasizing the point that people are free to charge what they want as long as they get customers who are willing to pay them.

Pricey Service For A Service You Get So Often

If their roots will never show, that's a different story, but for something that would probably grow out in about three weeks, wouldn't it be wise to invest that money in something more worthwhile?

I personally think that there are hairstyling services worth giving out that much for but for a cut and color? I would have a rethink, in short, several 'rethinks.'
