An elderly couple from Indiana fought off an intruder who tried to snatch their 6-year-old granddaughter. Though it sounds like something from a movie, the grandparents left the crazed creep with a bloody mug.

Brave grandmother Patty Roth and her grandchild were sleeping when 37-year-old Benjamin Dillon broke into the apartment and threatened to take the 6-year-old while claiming she was his daughter.

Martin Roth, the child's grandpa, somehow got the attacker out of the house. It's unclear where the mug fits in, but it shows no one should mess with grandparents.

Patty Roth said: "I was nervous, very nervous. I was shaking so bad." The superhero grandparents called the police. However, it only made the attacker more disturbed.

"I don't understand why he picked our apartment. I'll never figure that one out," Roth explained. A little girl's grandparents believe Dillon was on drugs, and the court records show Dillon has been in trouble before. He was arrested twice this year only on drug charges.

"I hope he gets the help he needs, and I hope he gets himself back on his feet," said Roth. The 6-year-old girl said to the police officer she was scared at the time but not hurt.

The girl's grandmother warned the stranger to stay away from her family and her home. "I wouldn't want him walking back to my apartment again. He will regret it the next time."

Dillon faces a long list of charges, including burglary, battery on a law enforcement officer, and intimidation.

The intruder is in jail

Dillon was agitated and without a shirt, which only made him look creepier. He told police officers that he thought the little girl "was being raped'. He allegedly threatened to "fight and kill" the police officers.

A team of eight cops zapped him with stun guns, cuffed him, and charged. It is still unknown whether the grandparents or police officers had injured Dillon's face.

There's still no official statement regarding this case, but the most important thing is that the grandparents and their precious little girl are doing okay.

Patty and Martin Ruth are Indiana heroes. As for the attacker, Dillon, he's in jail, and his bond is $75,000.
